I've been working with my education priorities but I can't get enough of the right workers. I have LLW but I need Doctors and Senior Doctors because I can't get my hospitals built. The system keeps entering pop trades for me but they don't seem to fill the need. I'd like a trade and some advice about getting these hospitals built and my unemployment down. I can't figure why the corporations aren't employing more. I know I'm short of MLM but is that dragging down everything?

It can do.
What level is your education index?

If you are short of any worker type, it will proportionately lower the others. You must make sure you have enuf of ALL worker types. So just simply building more corps will not help you, in fact it only makes the problem worse, only build if you have your current corps at 100% hiring and then only if you have the available workers.

Miki, what is your country? nix is right. If your education index is too low (you don't have enough schools), you won't create enough of any worker type, regardless of the priority. IMHO, you need to have an education index of 120 at a MINIMUM and continue to work to get it to 200.

Also, buying population won't necessarily give you the results you want. If you have boatloads of LLW's and MLW's but a small number of of docs and nurses, the proportion of new population will mirror your existing population (ie... you will get a lot of LLW and MLW's and a small number of docs and nurses.) You need to balance out your workers before buying more population.

Great responses all, thanks. My EI is 87% so I'm going to build that up. I figured my MLM shortage was a drag and someone helped me out with a trade that has that fixed. Would it make sense to kill any of the corporations that I shouldn't have put up in the first place? I'm really close to being right on target according to the "numbers required for 100% production" metric. The help has been tremendous thanks again.

Sorry, I forgot to answer the country question. I'm at The Commonwealth of Regina.

I looked at your homepage. You have about 5% unemployment and a lot of corps short on workers. You may have built too many too fast and want to consider closing a couple. Before you do that, however, inactivate your military. You are in secured mode and don't need a military right now. This will free up LLW's and MLM's. After that, try to balance out your workforce. Good Luck.
