Whats the max amount of countries you can have?

Do you have a credit card?

Maybe he's talking about countries you can conquer? I don't think there is an actual limit, maybe a limit in the number of countries you can handle.

You can have 10 countries, per world, before rebellions start.

How do rebellions manifest themselves? Are they limited to sporadic attacks on state owned corps? Or does something more dramtic happen? (Like spontaneously generated enemy land units shooting things up?) Is there a way to suppress them once they begin? Is the max country limit the same for peaceful and war empires?

You can spend GCs on boosters to prevent rebellions, much the same as war protection. The rebellions themselves are mostly against state-owned corporations but, if you have a state corporation-based economy, don't underestimate the damage they can do.

Yes, 10 countries is the max for either form of playing.

You will also note that the more coutries you have the higher each countries upkeep will be.

You can have as many countries as you want. Rebellion start when you cross over 10 however. Your state corporations will be destroyed each month by rebels. This can be avoided completely by having all CEO corporations in your country. No rebellions at that point. So...stick with CEO corps and conquer away.
