Hi Magnum.

I have never voted no to one of these requests before, but the the reason I voted "no" on this ballot is that you have refused to listen to advice from several players, including myself via ingame messages.

For example - You have a large military that you don't need and if you keep the standing army, chances are that the development aid will disappear as quick as the beginners bonus has. You need to make real attempts to stabilize your own economy before relying on charity.

I hope this goes someway to describe why I believe the voting has gone badly for you on this occasion but this doesnt mean you can't try again at a later date.

arccuk, to here this message blows my mind. my millitary consist of 1 bomber wing and 1 aircraft carrier and defense wings that were built via the advise of well known players. i was told to have 50 intercepter wings as a good defense. i have half that.and i have i long range div as well.i believe my spending is due to the fact that i inedvertinly deployed garrisons to many locals. this has been fixed. i ask questions every day and as the world can see i have done alot to fix my economy. a question i have to ask is does a 70 def index and a 25 offence index indicate i have to large an army. i welcome any advise you can offer.but please keep in mind while playing this game id like to have fun while i crunch the numbers

This is what happens when in game msg's are answered by idiots :)

Magnum would have been better asking in chat, he would have found the advice to help his econ model...not to deploy 50 int wings as a new player...

Magnum,

No, those indexes SUCKS. But careful, you are a starter so don't worry if they are low, they will be it for quite a good time.

>As you surely know by now... C3 DOES NOT FIRE BACK which means you DO NOT need a single defensive weapons.
For the time being, dismantle all your military defensive weapons, recall/retract all your garrisons and either move ALL your defensive weapons to:
A - Your Space Center
B - Deactivate all of them
C - Sell them on the world market
D - Destroy them

Most than sure, all the def weapons you have, have thousands of surplus on the world market so I would choose option "D" and destroy all of them. You can buy the same amount of weapons you destroyed again LATER with 200-300B or probably even less.
In case I wasn't clear enough....forget about your defensive weapons as a whole until you are commited to hit WL 3 and engage a president.

And hear to experienced player, not listen to them (small quote from White Men Can't Jump hehe).

:d

im disabling def weapons and have recalled garrisons.deploying them was in fact an error.as to the def air wings i have spent lots of upgrades and dismantling them would be in my opion counter productive. my real question is how many corp. does my country need to support 20 def wings-1 lrd-1 bomber wing-and an air craft carrier with 200 nfp.those def wings put my at a position to level up and ern gold coins.if anyone can answer that i would appriciate it. thanks magnum

There are many opinions on the optimum index levels Magnum but i don't believe anyone has determined a definative set. Indexes are interconnected and can deliver similar results from varied settings - perhaps others can post their preferences with the reason why they use them.

I use:-

Education 200
This level allows my countries to train workers in line with the population growth in my countries.

Transport 150
I am currently building this level to 160 to test if there is any benefit at that level

Health index 130-150
I used to run health index at around 115, but this level was no longer allowing my welfare index to sustain a 130 score. Increasing the health index to 135 helped a great deal in this regard.
I am currently increasing health index to 150 due to game level requirements.

hope that helps.

I define a large military as a sum of the number of soldiers / officers (that could be workers in corps)and the cost of weapons used each month to sustain the standing army. If I remember correctly your army stood at around 650K last time I looked - much higher than necessary for a low population country under WL3 as it cannot be attacked.

Dont worry too much about the bad advice you have recieved from others and the costs incurred due to it. Your empire will recover, as did mine. When I began playing this game I attempted to move up game levels through defensive index / war and it cost me dear.

If you care to analyze all the information that "Important things to do" provides you, you would be much happier then.

At the bottom of that page there is a section for corps and the game kindly suggest us the minimum of corps needed for having a strong economy.
A strong economy will let you keep many weapons active while still making profit.

-----> Answer to your question is right there - in front of you :).

"when i check it my indexes are all over 100 except def and offence.should they be higher?"
Click on "GAME LEVEL" and you will get your answer.
The game kindly specify us the indexes we must have to hit for a higher Game Level.

If you are not pursuing a higher Game Level then forget about your weapons and their indexes.

If you are not pursuing a higheder Game Level but you are trying to take over a C3 or President, then forget about indexes, they don't matter. What it does matter are the type of weapons and ammo you should have.

Again, don't care about weapons and weapon indexes not until your economy is good enough.

Don't let my words stop you from keep asking and sharing your doubts. But it's also good you make use of the documentation first :D.

cu around !

ps: I'm not Franz.

Two Ythretvarian pennies worth:

Magnum, it's true... you can get very varied results from similar settings because of the complicated interactions that take place with other factors you only have indirect control over. Some of the bad advice you've gotten in the past may very well have worked under different circumstances. Remember, as president, you will likely have a better idea about your economy than someone answering a particular question. Your main job as president is to figure out which technique works best for your country at the present moment. That being said:

I'd recommend not purposefully lowering your ed index. This index not only helps your score when you're plying for ranking, but it also tells CEOs your country can continue to staff their corps in the future. Most players dont realize, and most of the other players forget from time to time including myself: your population is constantly changing. Workers retire, become disabled, and some just die and must be replaced with newly graduated workers. If you drastically lower your ed, you may have enough workers today, but as they retire your ed wont be able to graduate enough new workers to fill the openings. Then you all of sudden notice large numbers of corps suffering worker shortages.

As your economy grows, I'd recommend purposely keeping a nice large pool of unemployed workers in each class, just to help replace retirees.

Populations over 50 million also require a higher health index than smaller pops. Apparently, it requires much more healthcare per citizen to keep a large country healthy than a smaller country does. (Suppose it makes some sense since realworld illness is so closely linked to population density.) Large countries with low health suffer pop loss until a new balance is found. Of course, this can be the cause of lots of headaches. From my understanding, pops over 50 million require a health index of 150 or greater to remain stable. Moral: strengthen your mind and body.

I'm not sure your military indexes mean much beyond your score since you cant know for certain what your opponent's strengths are until you goto war and encounter them. You simply have to prepare for war if youre going to war. I don't think there's really a "good number" you should "keep" them at. Different presidents at WL3 have drastically different defense capabilities. (Not to mention you have no idea what they have offworld that they can fly in to reinforce themselves.) The only "for sure" defense advice I've come across is: have lots and lots of nuclear defense. Seems like nukes are the current weapons of choice in many PvPs.
