You should try and hold onto it. The countries that dropped will be back fast. Just because you jumped doesn't mean it was because of a successful country. |

Rankings are simply a way to dole out awards. When accepting an award, you receive a score penalty that makes it more difficult to receive future awards. Score penalties can stick with you for years or, in practice, forever. You are more likely to have jumped in rankings since last month's awards were recently accepted. Rankings have not been a measurement of skill or country power for quite some time. |

Go for the second-tier awards - it's worth 4x as many GC, and costs less than 2x the penalty points, improving your long-term GC flow. |
