Hello Golden Raindow.
There has been a boycott set up against my country Mother Nature Cryz by the Rat Pack (members of Gref). The reason this has happened is because I was not willing to stand by and watch another player get hammered by a gang. I crossed the road and asked the victim if they wanted any help. I did not know the victim nor did I know the gang. So now I call upon all like minded players to help me set up an anti-boycott and free my people from a shortage of supplies.

Maybe our name will give you a clue as to why we might use boycotts? Just saying.

Slare, I'm seriously losing patience with you. You aren't a quitter by chance, are you?

Now Nix, when you take sides in a conflict it is just common sense that you become a target.

One cannot take sides in a conflict and expect to remain neutral. There is a word for that; foolish.

Latias. Did I bitch, moan or complain? No. I simply asked for like minded people to help me start an anti-boycott.

Did I accuse you of bitching, moaning or complaining? No. I simply said you were acting foolish.

Ok Latias. What made you think I expected to remain neutral?

Because you're asking other neutral presidents to join you needlessly. ^_^

How is asking them to vote against a boycott translated into asking them to join me?
Are you part of the Rat Pack by any chance?

From Wikipedia:

"The Rat Pack was a supergroup of actors and jazz musicians originally centered on Humphrey Bogart. In the mid-1960s it was the name used by the press and the general public to refer to a group that called itself "the summit" or "the clan," featuring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop, who appeared together on stage and in films in the early-1960s, including the movie Ocean's Eleven.[1]

Despite its reputation as a masculine group, the Rat Pack did have female participants, including movie icons Shirley MacLaine, Lauren Bacall, Angie Dickinson, Marilyn Monroe, and Judy Garland"

Out of curiosity... when/why did we start using the term "Rat Pack" as a pejorative?

Could people please stop mindlessly repeating things that other people say...

If you want to brand the fighters of GREF negatively, at least come up with something that makes sense for your propaganda purposes.

Sorry, just had to say it after half a dozen or so threads of this.

Actually I found the moniker rather amusing, since I was aware of what Retro posted above. Its almost an honorific. :)

Lol. Yeah, I have just been wondering this whole time what the point of calling GREF a group of jazz musicians was accomplishing...

Yes she is...by proxy, nix.

She remains in GREF although passively supporting their effort.... it is still support.

Kudos to those who left. Tragedy to see a few knuckle heads tear down a decent fed. Eco fed torn by war.... ironically outstanding.

We were concerned that this would be the reaction. Our decision to leave was actually not related to the current situation in any way what so ever. No one has torn GREF down at all, it is still the same fed fed it was, just a few members smaller, GREF will survive, expand and grow stronger in the same way it always has.

GREF doesn't begrudge anyone who wants to branch out and grow on their own. Nor were any those who founded TGC opposed to the fight against JohnL. It was more a "career opportunity" for lack of a better description :)

TGC has their own structure and their own goals and priorities, but they are perfectly compatible with GREF's aims. In fact, the ink is barely dry on our first treaty, and GREF looks forward to future cooperation with our alumni.

I beg to differ Tendo,on the tearing down. There is no need to spin this up or down....there is no doubt that logically the change has come on the heels of of a temperature change within GREF. I don't care why you moved, I simply gave kudos on the move, which was justified. We are all survivors, yes GREF too.

Yes a few knuckleheads have destroyed the good light that once lit the lamp of GREF. You are left with Stevie and Aqua....AF

Good Move Good Move...

You'd be better off not saying anything, Tendo. There's nothing that the UC propaganda merchants won't twist or warp to suit their aims.

There's nothing they cannot spin.

To be honest, the move came as a result of GREF's success. GREF is turning into a mature fed, and none of us would have left if we believed doing so would cause irreparable damage. It had simply become apparent that GREF was poised to become the next superfederation complex on GR, and myself, along with EO and Christopher, agreed with Tendo that the best thing for GR in the long term is parity among federations. Who knows, once this whole conflict is over, if UC is still around maybe we will see three feds alongside each other on GR.

That would be a lot of fun politics to work out :)

Ok latias..don't answer my question.
Retrokiller..The name Rat Pack was used in the first post in the first thread about this incident. Whether the members of Gref used it to describe themselves or John L used it to describe them I don't know or care. All I know is that I will always get involved if a crew tries to beat up one person. It's just not cricket.
