I think GR's name is Golden Rainbow's because of the proximity to Saint Patrick's Day. Where's a pot of gold, there's a rainbow... and a leprechaun to kick you in the arse. Golden evokes gold and a fool's gold, aka, Gold Coins. ;0

The first time I played SimCountry, for all of perhaps one month, GR was only for paid members (you could play for free on WG and KB(?) but your country would reset every month or so). I figured it was called Golden Rainbow because it was a magical land where the streets were paved with gold, or something.

Well thanks for informing us Laguna and Scarlet for pointing that out...the Ides of March....hmmmmmmm...very interesting or terrifying depending on your position on GR...LOL!
