I have a large over-supply of High Tech Execs and Exec Managers I would love to trade off. I really need High Tech Engineers, but MLW would also be welcome. I could trade off some medical staff, but I'd rather not.

From another country, I have just about anything I'll trade for LLW.

(It seems that the game prohibits me from trading employees between countries within my empire.)

If someone could offer me some advice on how to prioritize the LLW/MLW/HLW, relative to the more educated professions, I'd appreciate it. I don't want to keep demoting all those highly educated citizens to grunt work!

You can trade employees between your empire countries.

One additional trick is to transfer the max (400K?) pop from one country to another and then transfer the same number back. The way the different worker groups transfered works means than this results in balancing out your worker types between each country.

As far as education priorities of LLW etc, you cant alter them. If you have maybe 80K plus LLW then the game will always supply up to 30K HLW every month should you need them. Dont overdo your education index as this will train up all your workers to skilled. Getting the balance right is the trick to success. And I prefer to train up extra nurses to demote to lower workers. The age groups of each worker type does matter, so demoting senior people will mean they will leave that catagory immediately because they are too old to be labourers.

HTH a bit, ask if you have difficulties.

Thanks, Crafty.

Unfortunately, I am not allowed to transfer pop between the countries, as they are only 13M/9M, and (at least according to the screen message) I can only transfer pop if the source country has at least 100M.

I just started this game a little over a week ago. I am a free player (i.e. I'm cheap). Trying to figure the system out. It seems like the interface makes a lot of the management tasks unnecessarily difficult.

Thanks for the tip on nurses.

OK - the game somehow re-balanced my workers rather drastically. I've now got a screaming shortage of High Tech Seniors. Plenty of education and health professionals I'll trade for them.

Go to the employment page. At the top of that page you'll see a link to exchange workers between your empire. Transferring pop and exchanging workers are two different things.

Keep your education priorites at a high setting for high tech seniors/ engineers or you'll forever be in shortage.
