I just had a Major Earthquake. 87K died, 179K wounded, and 1.27M evacuated.

Do all of those evacuated people also stop working in my corporations?

Is there anything you can do to prepare for an earthquake or lesson its impact? I have had 2 in the past RL week.

make war hospitals and disaster relief supply units basically is all you can do to prepare for major earthquakes

usually its not a big deal though, it only kills like 1% of your pop if that, usually 0.1% or less

war hospitals do not help with natural disasters, only field hospitals do (maybe they help with "unnatural disasters" but not with regular ones)

Best way to prepare is to maintain about 10% of the maximum amount that you can stock in the "set up resources for natural disasters" or something. It's under the disasters menu.

I've noticed one thing, namely that after the disaster has been "handled" my population had increased to more than it was before, plus the 20k per month average growth rate.

I was also informed by some of the veterans, that disasters are GOOD! What you do is take over a C3 when u get hit with it, then have that C3 set up every single team it can, then ship them over to the hit country. After all those resources are shipped over, unpack those teams, then set up some more in the C3, and repeat. Simple way to strip the population from a C3.

Agreed with Asmodeus. If I get an earthquake now, it just goes ignored. The effects of them are so minimal that its not worth wasting your time with.

BUT...as Asmodeus says, you can take advantage of earthquakes if you want to. I did this before, and although W3C seem to have lessened the effect of the aid teams, it does still work.

Kind of difficult to ignore it when you get one of the big ones that kill more than 100K workers every month...but the little ones can safely be ignored.

I agree. Earthquakes are good. I was able to really strip 4 C3's of pop through disaster teams. Also, a couple of players sent some teams.

When using a C3 to transfer disaster teams, its pop needs to be kept over 6M. I exchanged "professionals" between C3 to keep the pop above the threshold, so that I could keep transferring teams in.
