Good morning all,

I am sure that I am not the only person experiencing massive shortages for High Level Workers. I have been changing professions at the max 50,000 a month in order to try and catch up to 100% hiring. Recently, I had to leave town for about 3 days and to return to no HLWs, about 8 fewer private corporations, and all of my HLWs have changed back to my Low-Level Managers!

This is going as far as to changing population that I have traded among my slave country. All other professions have sufficient population to provide full hiring and production to my CEOs in my country. I have been trying to juggle this situation but after losing 8 or more of my investors, I am seeking a true solution!

Is this a defect that the Gamemaster must resolve? Many thanks to anyone who can provide some assistance with this situation. Or if we cannot provide a resolution, then at least we can gripe about it!

Also, on a side note, to my CEOs having to deal with the lack of workers, my sincere apologies as I have been putting forth best efforts to keep all corporations profitable but simply cannot figure out this problem any longer. I hope that this incident will not deter you from investing in AwesomeWorld in the future as I am attempting to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

Regards,
Chuck - AwesomeWorld

I'm having the issue with Medium level workers.
but my countries relativly young. so prehaps it's connected to population sizes and when i have grown more mine will change from MLW to HLW

You should not be getting an increase in low level managers unless you are educating them. More likely your worker shortage or lost companies fired them. You can check the total number on the employment details page.

Check your population age. Your high level workers might be dieing or becoming disabled.

It is possible that a lot of companies are upgrading efficiency which would increase demand for high level workers.

Nurses are younger and sexier than managers. If you have too many low level managers set the education priority to 0 and bump up nurses. In most of my countries the 21-24 age group of nurses is larger than the 45 to 50. Nurses are never over 55. The education system cranks out young nurses so the unemployed tend to be younger than the employed.

I believe clinics bring disabled back as low level workers but I'm not sure.

It's just the pain of keeping an extremely vigilant eye on my workers numbers and having to convert them about 3-4 times a day if I want to remain ahead of the game. For the most part, when I convert workers, I am changing them from LLManagers to HLWs. When I left for two days, I have no HLWs and an excess of approximately 370k-415k LLManagers. It seemed to me that the game was converting them back if I didn't constantly convert the workers personally.

Maybe an auto converter would be a good idea but most likely not a high priority.

My other thought is regarding my education index (which is around 250.) I wonder that maybe my population is too well educated which is leading to a shortage of normal workers.

Here is a thought...

Our education priorities are supposed to equal 120. If I was to decrease priorities so that they equal less than 120, would I end up with more normal workers or would the game simply recalculate the priorities and adjust graduates accordingly? Anyone happened to try this, or any other thoughts?

Thanks for everyone's input.

I believe that this worker shortage is caused by buying population in your country's. After a comment by Treasurer before his ban, I have been spreadsheeting the pop in several of my countries.

When you buy pop, you end up skewing your age distribution. I bet if you look at your pop's age distribution you have pile of retired workers. They are just retiring so fast.

The good news is you will be converting workers for about 6-8 weeks and your age distributions will level out. The bad news is that you are going to log in to worker shortages and 24,000 HLW for all of that time.

I actually have a load of retired workers in a few of my countries. I think that the GM's should consider bringing in a youthanasia feature. Perhaps you would lose points off your score for using it - but I think its a good idea.....

That would make sense as I have been buying population in order to suffice the HLW necessity. I will check out the age distribution and make appropriate changes.

Thanks Aleksander!

Destroy hospitals. That will take a few points off your score. It will also lead to more infant mortality. The old people mortality is much higher. Destroy the hospitals also frees up high level workers and also nurses.

Destroying hospitals will raise the infant mortality, but they are the future workers, so you want to keep them around. Keep the hospitals and let the older ones die off naturally.
