Something Must Change (Little Upsilon)

In response to Wendy's (aka Psycho_Honey aka Inanna) constant disrespectful and time wasting c3 wars we have initiated a boycott of her LU empire. There needs to be repercussions for players going around and using c3's to constantly declare war on players while keeping their assets in war protection so that they can not be touched. There needs to be a balance such that if someone's assets are being threatened by constant war declarations, the person declaring needs to have assets of their own at risk, otherwise there is no reason for players not to just constantly drown others in war declarations. For those of you who are going to argue that what she is doing is within the rules, you are right, however this is not what the rules were intended to create. For those of you who will say that she must do this to fight off a far larger enemy, that is completely false. All of Wendy's 'main' countries are in war protection and

The rules have to be changed.

Wendy has discovered and occupied and exploited an ecological niche in the game. That's kind of cool, and in a way she should be commended for her cleverness and perseverance. How many others of us have changed the way the game is played?

But by exploiting this niche others have to respond, and the only effective ways suck. The basic way is to keep all your valuables in WP. That's expensive, and it kills the war game.

As far as I know, the only other ways involve making it more costly for the c3 warrior to operate (usually making it more costly to you, too) and making your own countries less attractive and less valuable (which certainly sucks).

Except, I myself won't need to keep my eco slaves in war protection, I profit off my single main just fine and would be more than happy to dereg any of them in order to continue my style of play.

Well said Jojo. I completely agree with the half nominal value, I've thought about using population in that way as well but nominal value makes sense. Also it should be half of nominal value is out of war protection/secured which would take care of Wendy's plan to get around the idea.

Biggie - I understand that you are not able to play on a consistent basis and due to that you feel the need to keep your assets in war protection spending the necessary GC's to do so and that is absolutely your choice. C3 Warring isn't a new thing and Wendy isn't the first user of that system. I'm failing to see why that tactic is being pegged to a single person. Just happens to be the one currently using it effectively. If the system needs changing thats great, boycotts against a player isn't going to do that.

Yes the system needs changing Xaldin - there are many current active threads discussing that very topic. However, that doesn't change the fact that people do not like Wendy and are asking for a boycott.

Then just characterize it how it is, not cry about how I play. If you don't like me fine, I'm not going to waste time begging people to help me boycott someone while making excuses. Xaldin - This is not c3 warring that has gone on in the past, sure many players have employed this tactic but not consistently for the better part of a year on 3 different worlds against probably hundreds of different enemies at this point. I'd love to see Wendy's war win/loss record in her account...I'd bet she's lost at least 500 c3's in the past 8-12 months. That's considerably different than a c3 war with a purpose, that's c3 warring to screw people over. Just as EO and Jojo have both said, the system needs changing and hopefully we finally have the voices/votes to make that happen. Plus, don't give Windy that much credit, this 'strategy' has been annoyance, not some great success. She'll rattle off numbers of inactives that she has taken but anyone could have done so without resorting to c3 warfare.

The best defense I have used against this is heavy AAMB and DMB then kill all O bases and O air bases down to one each. Leave one each alive. Then just keep attacking defenses at those two targets. A few times a day. You will catch some nice fish that way. They attack you and your D causes damage. You attack defenses at those two targets and you will kill ALL the offensive capabilities without spending much time or money.

bombers kills every LBCMB and CMB in the country and FP on the the O air bases kills all bomber and what not.

If your D is solid and you dont let them next to you, you'll hold with not much at risk.

aamb (anti air missile batteries), dmb (defensive missile batteries), lbcb (land base cruise batteries), cmb (conventional missile batteries).

I agree Barney, but you aren't seeing what is actually going on here. These aren't wars that are about taking a country...there is nothing in these c3's except nuke batts and strat bombers. This isn't an offensive attack as much as it is a terrorist attack. She takes 2 or 3 c3's decs, sends nukes, then a couple hours later, 2 or 3 more c3's taken and then sends nukes....over and over again...for weeks at a time. There is no concern of losing a country and as I stated, in all this time only one nuke landed on me but many others were not as fortunate and because of that people like me and many others are not taking new players into our feds because it is those players that get attacked and let's just say that they aren't all so experienced.

Windy - You are fully aware that they are inactive, you have no ability to beat anyone else other than a nub.

As far as Barney goes, his suggested strategy was exactly the right strategy if you are being attacked by players with skill using c3's such as the war on FB a couple years ago now. What you do is far different, there is nothing in your countries because you have no idea how to do anything but press the 'Launch Nuke' button, in addition because you purposely take c3's as far away from where you are attacking as possible and in all random parts of the world, the strategy of just attacking bases and leaving the countries isn't very simple which you are clearly aware of.
