Ok, we will need a series of common markets started. Each one should have probably 5 CEO's and 15 countries, leaving 5 available slots open for people to come and go. They should be named LU International 1, LU International 2, etc... DO NOT BUY OR SELL ON THE WORLD MARKET!!!
Each CM should have the following rules:
-25% of production offered
-25% votes to accept new members after 3 months
-51% vote for new rules after 12 months
-51% eviction after 6 months
If one common market in the chain doesnt have what you need, simply join a different one until you find one that has what you need. Everyone is free to come and go as they please.
You could also trade directly.

Questions? Comments? Concerns???

Come to think of it, the we can do the same thing with worker exchanges, strategic arms sales, and everything. Certain products will not be sold on the common markets, such as strategic weapons. Those can be sold directly or through direct contract.
If you guys wanna save Little Upsilon, this is the way to do it. This system would solve like 90% of the problems we are facing. Massive teamwork never fails.

Massive teamwork does fail. A shortage means that in the entire planet, there is not enough supply to fulfill demand. Getting everyone into a CM won't work in that THERE IS NOT ENOUGH SUPPLY TO FULFILL DEMAND.

Secondly, moving around isn't as easy as you think it is, since there is a vote for new members, AND IT TAKES TIME! 3 months to accept a new member, 3 months of shortages means a loss of billions.

The only way to solve the supply shortage, is simple. BUILD MORE CORPS!

Comments: a set of worldwide CMs would help the strong producers get their supply, yes, but it would be incredibly difficult to get everyone into these CMs whilst ensuring that the economically more powerful players are split between the CMs.

I would say you're better of just using time-based strategies on the world market and constantly building new corps of the kinds rep listed in his save LU campaign post.

Hey, thanks for the plug Accordion!

I still have the old bias about CM. The only thing they help are your country score. I know there's supposed to be strategies out there that make sense for CM, but I'm going to go with warfreak and Accordion on this one.

I'll try to get a new update out soon. we really are looking a lot better long term than we were 5 game years ago.

A CM is still only viable for 2 things.

Score and self contracting for ASQ
