this game has become more annoying than fun due to supply situations it seems like all players are quiting or trying to sell their accounts off now but they no longer have market value you can't even get someone to pee on your account much less offer you 50 gold coins for a country with 50 million population. it now takes more than 4 hours a day to manage your countries all the supplies are costing 4 times their value to buy its almost imposible to profit. the gamemaster is profiting more than ever before as the long time players desperatly buy population and coins to try to save their empires but as soon as everyones sick of this there wont be any players or money left. its so obvious from looking at game stats i can not believe they wont do anything aboutiit feels like gamemasters giving us a major fuck you. whats it gonna take to get game back to where it was 5 or 7 months ago when it was fun and you didnt have to be an unemployed person and sit at your computer 24 hours a day to manage your account?

just my opinion do you agree or not?

Why are you trolling?

Sunday, July 17, 2011 - 03:58 am Click here to edit this post
I agree on most points careers...

and from the looks of it Solaris, your lack of comment either way appears to be trolling more so than careers venting his frustrations.

Many players agree with a lot of points he made and the sentiment is across the board. Seems easy to get these new ideas for "improving" the game through but the GMS are ignoring the practical solutions that so many have asked for and would go much further as far as player appreciation is concerned. Fixing the quirks and such before adding so many experimental untested ideas. I mean as many people that ask for new additions to sim, are complaining about the pace of changes or neglect or the neglect of long standing issues. I remember asking for a sort by corporation button/option for CEOs because they are so large and it isn't practical for every product to run the same settings for supplies and sales among other things. That was back in 2007 oearly 08... we are halfway to 2012.

right now, everything is out of whack

the new supply thing, was brought on by various players over the years demanding that W3C stop pooring supplies into the market, to stop up bad shortages.

the result. well countries are making considerably more money, but your lucky if your breaking even with your country supply costs. it has changed the game, and honestly, over all, i think for the better. time will tell

their are some good points, in the area of military, but you can look at those same things in horror. if things continue as they are, well, its the biggest step yet to reducing military size. some will see that as good, others as bad.

really, for the current problem, (and even though i think this is over all good, its still a problem.) the solution is 2 of 3 things. increase the production output of corps, reduce the supply foot print, and reduce base prices, (considering that the cost of GC has devalued, in relation to game cash,)

will W3C do something? i'm not sure. in the past they have had a history of NOT doing something just because it was suggested by players, but recently, that attitude seems to be tardy.

Well said. I think its either end of the extreme. Doing nothing at all, but now (maybe in an effort to compensate??) doing just a bit too much. Too much focus on new things for an already successful game. Get the kinks out, maybe (try, attempt) a graphics overhaul to make the game look more modern, start the (Moderated)IRC, enhance the affiliate marketing tools. Too much is being done to change what is already good. I suggest hosting another game leaning more towards war but very similar to this one. Introduce a new World and test the new game on SimCountry members to see if it will be a success. Also create a world running as it is now. Charge 10 or 15 gc per month. Experiment there first with new additions and changes to game mechanics. Again wait 6 months or a year and get some feedback before implementing new ideas onto the rest of the world so that loyal long time paying members are not alienated by these changes. Just my suggestions.

Regarding the supplies issue:

The opening up of a free(r) market is excellent. All the great econ minds I know in this game applaud the move. OK, now it is harder to resource the answer - build those corps that make those supplies.

Its not so easy though, finding reliable countries for a CEO to build in is a major headache, and personally I dont have much room in my countries. I doubt all the free population in all the player controlled countries could run enough corps to meet full demand, also more corps = more demand.

So my one main suggestion would be for C3s to become more viable for building in. Resets could ensure enough workers left to at least keep current corps operating, most of mine cant compete even with 800+ salaries, there just aren't the people there. And at 30% tax too there's no incentive currently to build in them. Also the welfare in C3s, any reason that couldn't be improved? Its not like it would actually cost the game makers anything. I would even be willing to improve the welfare myself some if I had that option. In real life a new corporation has to contribute to the infrastructure in the neighbourhood, its sort of a condition of getting planning approval. And my corp does pay CRU, what's that for if the country doesn't improve significantly?

Excuse my longwinded post. Comment as you like, maybe I'll put it up in suggestions (where I should have :?) and for a vote, never know, it might get heard.

Funny.... You used to be able to sell a stripped country for 50GC... It used to be relatively simple to make 100B per game month in each of your countries.

Maybe the GMs are really trying mimic reality and have forced a big-time recession on us. Or maybe they're trying to play big-government and fucking everything up.

I say reset back to 2008. Nothing of value has been added since then and we were having a good time back then. Back when we were allowed to make a good profit...

lmao, that is a distorted view of reality. A half truth so to speak careers. There are many reasons the costs could be that high for that country. The lack of profit is likely due to inactivity, Tommi proly has phunner things to do like all the other players that left the game lols.

I will say the amount of maintenance required when the corps sizes were changing was enough to make a lady pull out all her pretty hair. When I noticed Tommi snarl at complaints from players who finally got the workers situated only to watch everything turn outta whack with another increase in corp size I gave up.

It went a lil something like this, but not a direct quote. "Why are you complaining about increase in corp sizes. Workers are easy to fix(**COUGH*BULLSHITE*COUGH**), And why should we want to come in and over the year or year and a half come in and make gradual increases to corp size."

Sure it'll make the servers faster, and process requests a lil better, but mess your junk all up repeatedly, rinse, repeat for GAWDS knows how long...

As a veteran advocate and founder of the Save The Clicks Foundation, I think this is what finally took the clicks outta me.

Why all this moaning about supplies?

I have no problem with country supplies. I rarely check my orders, but haven't experienced any shortages. It takes a long time to fulfil each order, but I have increased my low-water mark to compensate.

I went through a period of large shortages in many of my corps so I changed my order strategies. Result: very few corps hit a 'shortage' of supplies.

My countries are turning c.$80B/month surplus which, although not huge, is fine by me.

My enterprise is doing very well turning selling shares in its corps to the tune of $300-400B/month.

Stop your moaning, accept that the game dynamics have changed a bit and adjust your strategies accordingly. It'll take you a while to do so, but I only need to spend 30 mins a day managing my empire (though I tend to spend longer).

I'm not sure whether it's about the shortages thats the real cause of lack of profit, but the bleeding factory maintenance units they cost a fortune, I think they should reduce the amount corps use every month by about 75% for any corps to have a chance to make any real profit, or maybe get rid of the factory maintenance units altogether and their corps that produce them.

My point, lol....Even with all the changes, profit is still being made by a lot of ppl and healthy profits too.

Shortages are there for most ppl because they rely on a market that has had its supply fairy nerfed,lol....some of us that use a CM are finding no issues and no shortages

im jus gonna be pissed if i organize my common market then gamemaster interferse and puts things back how it was. Its alot of work to organize a complete common market to supply all corps and country needs especially when every corp is built it pushes the needs for supplies even more then everyday as a countries population grows so does the needs for goods to make the citizens happy. But i think a total independent empire is a good idea. Whats the use in having a common market if things were how they were

I started back up about 2 months ago, and i have a country with

Cash: 2.41T SC$
Profit/Loss: 175.49B SC$
Total Assets: 74.47T SC$

No profit, I do not think so, i make good money and this is a country with just 55M people, if i bring it up to 99M than i am sure i can make it have 300+ profit a month like Blue. No profit, LOL you can still make a big profit, and if you dont have the supplies than just build the corps you need to supply them and sell them to the comps, that need it.
