I am looking to set up a trading business between White Giant and Little Upsilon and I am seeking an entrepreneur from LU willing to work with me.

The idea is to trade products that are alternatively cheap and expensive in the respective worlds. If commodities are chosen and priced correctly, my research has shown that it is possible for goods coming from WG to provide me with at least 50% profit when sold in space and for my trading partner to also gain another 50% or more when sold in LU. At the same time, the reverse trading provides us both with a similar profit when LU goods are sold at the space station and again in WG. This reverse trading ensures journeys to the docking station are not wasted!

To begin the exercise, I have chosen tea (quality 300) from WG and I have pre-loaded 2M tons and I am selling it at 1.5M tons per GC. In return, I am looking to purchase meat at similarly favourable terms depending on the quality, these can be agreed beforehand if preferred. As an example, my calculations are that a GC (circa 110Bn) buys 1.5M tons, which could be sold in LU for around 220Bn. So, in the case of tea, there is in the region of 100% profit.

The overheads for trading are the initial cost of the shuttle (5GCs), the rental of a docking station (5GCs per station, since 2 stations would be desirable) and the maintenance units for the shuttle. These costs should be easily covered inside a month of trading. The business can be expanded to other commodities if proved successful.

Anyone interested should contact me at Thailoonia on WG or through the messaging system or reply to this thread. Alternatively, to be truly first come first served, rent a docking station on the Space Station Triangle and buy the tea immediately!

Tea = 'Terrible'
Meat = 'Miserable'

Maybe on FB.... that's why I don't intend to trade there.

At least, not with tea and meat :)

Can you transport food products? I tried this between my own empires and was surprised to find I couldnt load any food products onto my shuttles. This was maybe a real month or two ago. Not sure if it was a temp glitch or something, but just figured that food products couldnt be transported via space. Have you successfully transported them between worlds?

You can trade almost anything except for boats and naval ships. But some products take a ridiculous amount of trips to transport a spending space worth of product and just aren't enough to trade on the margins.

Gothamloki.... I identified and reported a problem, not necessarily with food products but it turned out that any commodity which was in units/tons less than a unit of shuttle capacity wasn't loading. That has now been fixed.

Yes, WitchyPoo, a shuttle load of, eg, tea is 200,000 tons. So it does take a few journeys. But even so, that is negligible time per journey and is the cost of a few shuttle maintenance units (less than one per journey). I believe the profits at stake here well cover that overhead (over 100Bn to cover 3Bn?) and that is just for buying. You can sell and double your margin!

Don't work like that bro
I'm one of the top if not the top space trader.

The profit you make isnt that amazing.

For the sake of happiness lets use wine.
Low ball price
150M units * 3,000per unit = 500B
High side selling
150M units * 12000per unit = 1.8T
Total Profit
1.8T income - 500B to buy = 1.3T income

now lets add space expenses
150M units / 200K shuttle space(wine is only .5 space per unit) = 750 trips
Last i know of each trip uses 2space shuttle maintenance units.
(750 trips * 2units per trip) = 1500units
1500SC main units * 140M(cost of a maintenance unit)= 210B(NOTE) you cant buy 100Q anymore so the REAL total is 210B * .2(this is to jump it from 100Q--->120Q) = 250B.
After all this remember those 750Trips that was one way they still got to get home :)
That cost just doubled.

Now your @ around 1T in costs 800B profit. BUT WHAT THERES MORE!!!

1500Trips is a lot of taxing on a shuttle or (shuttles). You'll need more. The cost of building a 150Q shuttle runs @ around 600B(one a good market). Now your making 200B. Not to mention all the other details which i don't want to go into.

EVEN if you bought @ higher Q 350Q your looking @ making 1T if your LUCKY by trading wine. Most markets are like this.

The only items that make any money

Space
Nukes
Offensive weapons

Stick to those and your make plenty.
When it comes to space/big parts of the game like this. Might want to dig around first before jumping head in. I've learned this mistake the hard way several times
