Are Federations and Common Markets much a part of the game? It does not seem to be an active topic on the forum. Do most players belong to either of these types of organization? Or do most players just use these to link together their own multiple accounts?

My own country, The United Kingdom of Misoto, would be interested in finding a common market that can supply some of the things I am lacking, and a place to sell the things that I overproduce (hi-tech services, stone, fruit, milk, etc).

The game gives you negative points for trading internationally outside your common market, but does that "negative" really affect any of the game mechanisms?
