I decided it was time for a new thread, because the comments on the old thread were getting to be too much for CEOs to read. Anyway, here is an overview of the republic's current economic policy:
Target Education Index: 200+
Target Transportation Index: 120+
Target Healthcare Index: 120+
Target Social Security Percentage: 80%
Target Corporate Profits Tax: 0%
CEO Policy: Any and all CEOs are welcome to build any and all corporations within the republic. However, the CEOs of underperforming corporations may be asked to close or relocate said corporations, and those corporations may be nationalized and closed down by the president if the CEO fails to close or relocate them within a reasonable period of time. All CEOs invested in the republic are encouraged to give suggestions and input regarding the republic's economic policies.
State-Run Corporation Policy: The president of the republic prefers CEO-run corporations to state-run corporations. However, state-run corporations may be built from time to time to provide employment to the citizens of the republic whenever there are insufficient CEO-run corporations operating in the republic. Whenever possible, these state-run corporations will be IPOed to CEOs to further increase their profitability. All CEOs buying shares in these corporations are requested to buy no more than 24% of the shares of any one corporation, because Simcountry grants an automatic boost to public corporations the majority shareholder of which owns fewer than 25% of the shares. |

Your eduction index is too high. Not enough workers is as bad as not enough professionals. Lots of the 750,000+ tech guys will be sitting on their hands because there are only ~120,000 workers around to work with them. |

Every time I check Tim's country with my CEO, all the tech workers are taken. I was gonna build some fancy shmancy high tech corp, but I reckon I'll just plant corn instead.  |

@ Aries:
On the country automation page of every Simcountry, there is an option labelled "Move Workers to other Professions". If you check it, then whenever your country has a shortage of low level workers but a large surplus of educated professionals such as doctors, high tech engineers or high tech executives, some of those educated professionals become low level workers instead. I'm not sure, but I think it might also work with medium level and high level workers. I always keep that option selected, so there isn't any need to worry about a shortage of common workers resulting from too many educated professionals.

I've just checked the requirements to build several high tech corporations in my country, and my country currently has enough workers to fully staff all but one immediately. In the case of the one corporation where my country did not have enough workers to fully staff it right away, the only type of workers lacking were executives. I'm sure it would be easy for my country's powerful education system to generate the necessary executives quickly with a slight tweak of its education priorities.
