The bad news:
The price of carbon has collapsed and carbon corps are extremely unprofitable. The market price of carbon is now about half of the base price.

The good news:
You might as well horde carbon at this rock bottom price. Then when the price increases eventually, your country or CEO can make a profit by selling carbon to your corps.

My CEO already has a stockpile of 102 million units of carbon.

Unfortunately, train tracks still don't use carbon and there are no trains, yet.

But most people prefer travel via cars instead of trains, and you will need carbon to produce cars. The batteries, chemicals, electric power, and steel used to produce cars also require carbon.

As Walter White (also known as Heisenberg) used to say: we're all carbon.
