Hello,
i'm having a strange problem. I'm attacking a C3 country, this is not my first war since i have conquered other 2. The problem is that i'm facing very heavy losses in air war.

I attacked 3 times enemy air wing units, 2 wing with 200 interceptors and 200 helicopters each. My air wing have 1000 fighter planes and 1000 drones.

In each attack i loss 900 drones against about 80-100 interceptors and 100-120 helicopters. This is insane, when i attacked the other country in a single or at max two attacks i wipe out all the enemy air force with 500-600 drones of lost at max.

Any ideas why i'm sustaining this losses now?

2 possible things come to mind.

#1) If the C3 you're attacking is a direct land neighbour, your air-power is reduced unless you have ground units in support (i.e. close enough to the target that they could attack it themselves).

#2) If you're attacking the air wing directly, then the other air wing will come to support it, so you're actually fighting both wings at once. You might like to strike at a county/village, or other lightly defended target, then you'll only be facing 1 air wing at a time.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Turner.

1) Yes, i'm attacking a neighbour, but i have a land division near the objective.

2) Yes, i'm attacking directly the enemy air wing, but i've do the same also in other wars. But you are correct, i will try to attack a town instead of enemy units and will report the effects.

yeah you usually dont have to attack the air wings at all... just attack the air defenses indirectly when you fight capital, cities, towns.

I've used an air attack wing of 1000 drones and 1000 fighters to attack interceptors wings and helicopters wings with some losses of attack drones only. I've destoryed the air defense in just 2 direct attacks on the C3 air defense units. I'm going to try attacking the defense of a county/town soon. In the past, I've noticed fighting both air units at once.

Dont forget that some C3s have insufficient supply units roaming around because their last reset was before recent game changes. This means that while they have air wings, those air wings dont always have enough/any ammo in them and this can cause different effects in different fights.
