Corp Supplies

When I've had countries and an enterprise in the past, I've never had any problems with the ordering of supplies. I rarely saw 'shortage' next to a corp's name and when I did, the automatic system kicked in and the product was ordered without me having to do anything.

Now though, I constantly see shortages every month for several corps and they are not being converted into immediate orders. Sometimes a product is needed immediately and there isn't even an order for it.

Also, I have new corps set to order supplies at 160 quality, but they are being ordered at 100 quality.

Does anybody know why this is happening and is there anything I can do to make it work as it should?

I am not doing anything differently to what I have done in the past - not that I'm aware of anyway.

I recently experienced the corp supply shortages that you describe--in both my countries and enterprise--where there wasn't enough of a material for one month's production and yet no automatic order had been placed (steel most recently).

I don't know why this happens, as it does every few real time months or so--world shortages don't explain why no order has been placed--but since the problem does seem to correct itself in relatively short order, my solution has been to buy a modest stockpile of the materials in question through the countries/enterprise at "immediate" prices and then sell three months' supply at market directly to the corps in need.

I'm not claiming that this practice is optimal, and it's a pain in the butt, but it does keep production at something better than zero.
