Is there a problem with buying defensive forts from yourself? (Little Upsilon)

I have tried this a couple of times and I can not accept the inside trade for Forts. I have $$ LW and MM available and but the trade remains on the list until I withdraw the trade or it reverts by it self. The side problem is then the company starts shutting itself down (Auto productive and hiring.)

Is there a reason or is this a quirk?
