Newbie Question (Little Upsilon)

Hi guys and gals,

I have a newbie question with a twist of what I've read so far on the forums. I know that I don't have to have a defensive force in my secured, but when I get rid of all my defensive forces with my military costs go down? Or do I have to change the budget?

Another question is if I have no defensive forces does that affect my offensive abilities? What are the best offensive units?

Military costs will go down on their own.

The budget is set to change automatically and all it does is to provide to an estimate how much is spent. It really cannot be used as a tool to contain spending.

Defensive weapons and offensive weapons differ and are independent. Best offensive units... well, it depends on the job. But, in general, those in default are not the best.
