I have a few questions on how these corporations work and how their product works.

First, is there a point in upgrading these
corporations? Effectivity and/or Quality?

They don't seem to be making as much money as they did when I first started them off and the price per unit has more then doubled since then.

Further to that question, What is the game affect of purchasing a 150Q upgrade (E or Q) vs a 100Q (E or Q) upgrade.

I upgrade them in general. Haven't noticed any decline in profitability, but then I haven't been looking.

The difference between a 100Q and a 150Q upgrade? Price. That's it. They behave exactly the same.

Maybe a higher Q upgrade lasts longer than a lower one...
Hmm, haven't looked into that.
If it doesn't, it should.

Would be nice, and would give them a point versus the current 15 months/20months. (AEP/AQP respectively).

Products that sell only to countries should only have their effectivity upgraded, because countries do not benefit from quality - hence player countries will only be ordering quality 100 products and no higher.

Price lowers with higher effectivity, assuming the same amount of money is spent on materials, etc., all the way through.

That's the theory anyway. So far, I've contracted some companies to produce solely for my country and have upgraded only their effectivities - but haven't seen any gains yet (one of them is having employee shortage).

Upgrade Quality allows you to sell your products for a higher price. Let say your product sell for 1000, at 100 quality you sell for 1000. At 150 quality you sell for 1.5 * 1000 = 1500. Per item. So for a decent corporation that makes 1.5 billion a month at quality 100, it will make 2.25 billion per month at quality 150. Provided of course you are selling the item at the right price.

Upgrade Effective allows you to make the same profit with lesser workers. Which for presidents means you can have more corporations. It is also supposed to reduce the cost by a little.

To SolidSamurai, there is no difference in products selling to countries or to other corporations. Your theory is sound but half of the countries are c3 which seems to buy at any quality. And not all the presidents are so well informed. I for one wasn't before.
