Health Index (Little Upsilon)

Does anyone know how the health index is calculated.
In one of my countries I have
1245 hospitals and 667 are needed for good quality

1245/667 = 1.87

Based on this I thought the index should be 187, but it has topped out at 152.38.

Are there any other factors that influence the index like the quality of medical supplies or special clinics, etc... which would explain the difference between the number I calculated and the actual number?

Heath index calculation is not a linear equation unlike education and transport which are. I just build hospitals until I get the index I require.

I've never seen the formula for health but I dare say some smart arse has spent the time to work it out.

"# needed" is about 90 index, so everything is lowered by at least 10 or so %. There's also a delay for it to change, and it is rather slow. Your figure would suggest it's about 85 index if it were truly "topped out".

Crafty is bang on. It's a non-linear equation (I'm sure I could calculate it if I gave it some time), which means it's hard to predict what number of hospitals will yield what index.

Your Health Index is dependent on the number of working hospitals you have, to answer your final question.

And as a brief rule of thumb:

100% of Hospitals Required = 90 Index
150% of Hospitals Required = 130 Index

Therefore your index is not unusual.
