This is the tooltip in military units :

The fighting level is also called the war level of the country (empire). It is an indicator of the capabilities of the player. To get to higher war levels, you must fight wars of increasing complexity against computer controlled countries.

I can't believe I am at War Level 200+.

Fighting level is based off of quality to start, and is affected monthly. Can someone point me towards documentation? The Sim Dictionary does not contain the term. A perusal of the war features documentation does not show anything.

However, I did run across a statement I reported as in error the last time I was in game several years ago.

The maximum number of fortifications is 100. Perception is a powerful tool. If you are going to give players access to a resource, i.e. documentation, you should insure that is accurate. If you want to obfuscate certain things, do not give out the information. But for god's sake, don't give out the wrong information. Being as where that information is at - where only a GM could author it, it should be treated as gospel.

I think you can have more than 100, by having a corporation that sells fortifications and then using those products instead and having thousands of them.

The number of fortifications you should have is 150 no more no less. Having more than 150 fortifications only employs more military personnel to staff those fortifications. Which means you will be paying a higher defense budget and will have less workers to move into corporations. Having less than 150 will decrease your war index. Players who use that tactic, simply do it because they can not afford a proper defense or don't know how to setup a good defense and must use an alternative. It's not effective against a determined aggressor. War level has nothing to do with fighting level and I don't know how that came up.

SF,

You are correct. However, the point remains.. the documentation is wrong, and has been so for a period of years. If there are errors in one part, the entire thing can be viewed as suspect and useless. If I can't trust the facts in one part, I am leery of believing anything in it.

Zen,

I'm not sure either. I'd rather the tool-tip be blank then have it give out erroneous or misleading information.
