I don't understand why these 2 corps have closed since these two were high value and making profits. I've had another 18 corps close like this, they were not even in debt or anything either, I still don't understand why. Unless I am missing something here.

hmmm.. I was thinking. Would any contracts between my corporations be the cause of any of this if any of their contracts cannot be fulfilled to each other for a long time? affecting their corp values? Aries, if you're reading this, please tell me if this could be the case here.

The thing I don't understand is, I didn't see any warning of any of these corps closing beforehand.

I am not sure James, from the info you made available to me. My guess is that GM controls are going too far. I am seeing too many examples for my tastes in that area. The one in particular, that could be related to what you see is this one:

1. There appears to be a relation with employment in your corps and any surpluses with their produced product on the market. In short, regardless of your hiring and salary policies, if a product in is market surplus, your corporations lay off workers in a manner beyond your control. I have found this to be particularly frustrating as restoring full employment as a country President in such cases is impossible until the product surplus situation is rectified and difficult for some months after the fact. In short, you are not able to tell your corporations what to do and it does not seem right.

In your case, perhaps a more persistent market surplus occurred. Note the reason for the closure mentions "utilization". This is a term that is found associated with the trade->factory utilization page. Maybe a surplus forced a lower work force and ultimately a closure in a situation beyond your control.

If that is the case, this is plain unacceptable. This can cause massive losses in trying to replace these corps. Who comes up with these ideas?

Yeah, I think what's happened too, because I did have full employment as well as those 2 corps I mentioned above were definitely making big profits and were not in debt either. They were high valued ones as well as I couldn't understand why they were closing. However, I did noticed there were surpluses in certain products on the world market though, but I never thought it would cause them to close some of my corps since they were also selling all the products every month too.

I agree with psycho honey, it is unacceptable to do that as I have just had trillions in value wiped off those closed corps. I've took a long time building up my enterprise, only to be ruined by this stupid feature. I'm starting to lose appetite for this game now. Especially the economic side of it. I'm even thinking about Ipo'ing all my corps to save all the hassle and get what I can for them.

Well at least you answered my question in the most straight forward and neutral way. I knew I could count on you Aries, much appreciated.

Indeed, I didn't realize hiring was being reduced because of surplus. That accounts for the hiring drops in my corps too. I continue to have to move corps thinking it is a manpower issue except it shouldn't be happening because I have higher salaries than c3 countries in my enterprise corps. This is good to know for sure. I can save some clicks.

You know I wasn't even paying much attention to my corporations lately. Worried about other things. However recently my larger countries have plummeted in income from corporate tax and unemployment has been increasing and decreasing at rates I didn't understand. So I kept building corporations, then all of a sudden I was shorted workers.

Nice example is that my Airforce maintenance corporations, which are usually extremely profitable by around 40-50 billion SC$ a game year profit are losing production and lowering their employment because players are randomly dumping maintenance into the market. Along with other products.

I don't know when these updates occurred, I haven't been paying enough attention to them. This change however has effected me severely and I am afraid of my planned build to not go the way it is supposed to.

If another player wanted to rain on someones parade all they'd have to do is dump a few specific products that player has a large production % of. Increasing unemployment and changing the way their country is behaving. Much worse than simply just losing some profits for a few game months.

3 of Corporations Closed for no reason on LU, haven't been takes any debts, High Hiring rate (you can see on News), and Good Salary.

3 of Corporations all high profits, about 1B every month in game.
so I'm considering this game is too many bugs, not complete enough for play.
maybe it's the time to rest for a while, let develop team to fix bugs.

Foran W,

If the corps were CEO controlled, and the CEO quit the game. The Corp often gets closed as a result. It happens sometimes to CEO Corps in my country, when the CEO has been inactive for a long time.

You have an aggressive buying strategy for supplies. If a purchase order goes unfilled for a few months it turns into Best Price. Go to the Retract Orders page and see if you have a lot of multiple orders. If all these get filled in the same month the corp will have a sudden large drop in cash and close. I've seen corps spend over 30B$ in a month for supplies. The other option is to keep about 60B$ in your corps.
