Fortifications... (Kebir Blue)

Hi,

Currently playing on KB, i have noticed all of these experienced players with all of their fortifications borderd around their country. Now i do not have a clue in the world of how to do this. Was hoping someone experienced at this game could aid me with this little problem?

In your country map, click on one of your fortifications. That'll give you a popup, which I THINK you have to click on the "location" line. That will bring you to a new window, and the fort should have a little green exclamation point. Mouse to where you want the fort, if you're allowed to put it there a finger will be there, if you just get the mouse arrow you can't put it there. It's easier to use the "big map" to move stuff around.

About time I did something right this week! woo-woo.

You can also move your towns, cities, bases, and factories the same way. If you do them though, click on the thing about redoing the roads and trains when finished.

When arranging forts, cities, units, etc., keep in mind that they have a "zone of control" that will catch invading ground units and slow them up. So defend "in depth."

Is it a quirk of the Southern Dialect of English that "slow up" and "slow down" mean the same thing?

If an army is invading it likely to destroy the forts so that the war index drops.

If you leave your forts in a pile it is more likely that the enemy will accidentally attack one without bombing the garrison first.

Of course it might just be me that has that problem.

i bought a hundred forts and it filled up my whole map so when someone tried to reach my capital wich was on the ocean his ten units used up all their ammo. And when he came back with more units i had bought more forts. But all of the attacks became annoying so i bought the countries around me to defend my main country.

Yeah like Adam said, all garrisoned cities, forts, towns, etc will slow down invading troops. By positioning forts on the outside of your country, you can slow down invasions and make the invader have to fight their way to your capital/military bases or whatever you want to defend. Also, by spreading out your defenses, you help prevent the enemy from occupying much of your country and lowering your defense index in that way.

I have a problem (possibly) related to the one King had. I have started a war with a non-player country next to me, as a way to learn how to go about attacking. I have four air units and only one offensive military airport. The airport was not near the border of the country I wanted to attack so I relocated it to be close to that border.

Now the map shows the air units that were at that offensive military airport still at the location where that airport used to be, even though the airport isn't there any more! When I try to airlift the air units to the offensive military airport in its new location the game tells me the units are already at the airport, so I can't move them. Meanwhile however the game does seem to realize the air units are in fact still in the airport's former location, because I can't use them to attack anything inside the country I'm fighting with - because they're too far away!

Just to

i would disassemble your air units and reassemble them at the new airport.

On a side note, you don't need to move your airport when attacking countries. Your airplanes can move across most a continent.
