Silver coin (Fearless Blue)

To make the cash market more player friendly I propose the silver coin. The silver coin would act like the gold coin but would be available from the gamemaster at a fixed price, but only useable within the game. This would allow players to easily convert game cash to silver coins for storage and use.
Gold coins would retain their real life value and be removable from the game.
This would allow players who want to use their profit to invest in the game an easy and quick means to do so.
For those who wish to withdraw real money from the game via gold coins, the competitive nature of the gold coin market would keep prices high.

I've seen a lot of dumb, moronic, completely asinine and idiotic suggestions in my time here on SC... but this one actually isn't half bad, and I'm surprised no one has said anything about it yet.

For this, you get a bump, and I hope your suggestion finds favor with someone more important than I.


Then again, I'm against the whole cashout feature anyways. But, nevertheless, this gives W3 a middle ground to allow players a way to quickly convert game cash into coins which can be reinvested.


I would like to make an addition to this suggestion. It would create problems on the cash market to have players buying and selling with two different currencies, and furthermore, the issue of conversion will come up. For example, should someone using silver coins be allowed to buy population from someone wanting gold coins, or should someone have to select whether or not they want to sell population for gold or silver.

Good points. Bad money drives out good. Have a floating exchange rate between gold and silver coins...but kind of complicated. Coins make everything needlessly complicated.

It already has and it was rejected. But it came with the name Platinum Coins, instead of Silver.

I don't recall what was said to put it down, but something along lines This is not what we want seems accurate.

Silver coin equals less cash for sim ;-)
