Simcountry is a multiplayer Internet game in which you are the president, commander in chief, and industrial leader. You have to make the tough decisions about cutting or raising taxes, how to allocate the federal budget, what kind of infrastructure you want, etc..

My opinions:
Crime, nope.
Police, nope.
Security Forces, what are all those defensive weapons?
Secret Service, nope.
Terrorism, ever heard of a sneak attack?
Religion types, only if it's the same as government types (as in does nothing).
Nutrition, nope.
Lottery, nope.
Nuclear Plants, have you noticed those Nuclear Power corporations?
Green lifestyle, nope.
Pollution, nope.

Green could be called 'environmental budget' - it could be part of social security index. The benefit is that it makes people slightly happier (the welfare index rises a bit) and you might see some 'environmental contributions' from the populace. That's about it though.

If you want to make it very real - introduce government sanctions. Although the amount of sanctions and extremity depend on government type - but that would also give a major advantage to certain types of government. So, no. Not a good idea apparently.
---

I've always thought - this game uses so many numbers and is pretty in depth. Anyone who wants to get into it are only the people that are willing to look through all these numbers. So, might as well make them game more complicated, right?

Introduce sub-levels of military employment for wiser military spending and tweaking.

RECRUITERS - recruiters jack up the 'hiring' of soldiers and officers.

Officer training schools and academies (converted high schools; one to officers and the other to soldiers) allow for less manpower for weapons to remain operational (the maximum reduction is like 50% or so). You can also assign supervision to units - supervision is in the form of officers.

With supervision, units can do more, like receive support from other units (non-support; say an air defense wing needs to cover one land unit or attack wing or you want interceptors to patrol a specific garrison) that are told to 'garrison' with that unit or whatever (up to a maximum of 2 or so, depending on supervision).

Crime/Police: Yes. But only make a statistic type of thing. Give nations Crime Rates and Crime Organizations that decrease the score, kill population, and reduce income. Police Departments can be constructed and managed to reduce the Crime Rate and destroy Crime Organizations.

Security Forces: Uh.... yeah, we do have ARMIES, you know.

Secret Service: It has no purpose. Unless you give us the ability to assassinate leaders, though I suppose that is a possibility (assassinate Mayors and Generals, but NOT Presidents).

Terrorism: Terrorism could work like Crime Organizations.

Religion: I'm actually working on an idea right now for Religions (that affect the game).

Nutrition: I'd actually go for this. The healthier food you provide, the healthier your people are. Junk foods would have to be cut down, while healthy foods would have to be increased.

Lottery: Maybe. Probably not.

Green Lifestyle/Pollution: Okay, I would definitely want this in, but within reason.

Firstly, avoid global warming entirely. It'd be better to skirt that controversial issue.

Now, there could be different types of Pollution, like Air (smog, acid rain), Water (crap in the rivers), and Ground (crap on the side of roads). It harms the wildlife, thus harming the industries that rely on that, harms health, thus harming your population, and makes people unhappy.

Green power has to be shitty, like it is in the real world. It's just a simple fact that wind power cannot produce electricity to power a nation. However, Hydroelectric and Solar provide much electricity with little Air Pollution, and make your people happy. Recycling and anti-pollution efforts can reduce pollution and save money.

I sort of agree with some of those, but once again, its all " there " just not micro managed down to that level, "government costs" etc..etc..Besides In some of my countries if I had to have cops for every citizen holding a gun, I'd be bankrupt. haha

The Green Movement, yes, they started that project with Nuclear Power, never got much further with it

I'm still waiting on A new corp to balance the overwhelming FMU stance...perhaps something ' Green ' like solar panels or something that get added to corps as an upgrade that reduce Fixed/maintenance costs and reduce the amount of FMU's used (by a realitively small amount @ max upgrade)..

But, I wont go into detail..

Every citizen with a gun? On the contrary, the more gun owners there are in a nation, the safer it is. The most notable exception to this rule is Japan, which has an almost non-existent crime rate and a ban on firearms. Within the West, though, more guns translates to more safety.

You know what we need? A "Media" category of corporations, with things like Cinema, Video Games, Video Game Consoles, Music, etc. in it. It wouldn't serve any grand purpose, it'd just be more options.

how come defense units can only be added to offensive base when deployed and not to a defensive base, the same with airports..... whats the point of defensive bases then the don't station any of the defensive units

Pollution would be good especially if countries use alot of coal for their source of energy. You could even use a smog cloud on the map to indicate the level of pollution within the country.
As far as crime, in countries with a low financial index and high unemployment, crime should rise and to counter that police force hiring should increase.
ASLO, what would REALLY be cool, in order to advance to certain game levels you should have some type of epidemic or some tragedy to overcome to advance to the next level.

Getting rid of the war levels is the best thing if you want to make the game more real.
