When my country's automation goes overboard and orders up a whole bunch of hospitals that I don't want or need, I have to go to the Pending Deliveries page and click Details on each order and manually cancel it. That is a major pain in the butt. I think there should just be a nice simple checklist where I can put a checkmark by each order I want to cancel, and then just be able to click "Cancel Selected". That would save so much time!!!

One way to control this is to go to your auto-settings page and cancel the auto "health and education" buttons. If you leave these buttons on the game will automatically order schools and hospitals until you reach a certain level. Same with roads and traintracks. But remember to manually order these items as you can afford them, as you should shoot for at least a 180 education index and 120 in health and transportation.

If you do cancel those, I'd suggest also cancelling your "ed. priorities" button. If you do this you will need to set those priorities yourself. The total should come to 120. Experience shows that a 6 will be slightly less than what you need for replacing retirement. The higher your education score the easier it will be to get the professionals you need.

But I mean I want it to automatically order things like that...but I want the ability to easily cancel all those orders if it goes overboard. I look in my pending deliveries sometimes and its got like 10 hospitals pending, each one is its own order. I do NOT need that many hospitals! It is wasting my money. That's what I mean; automation is good when it doesn't order something a gozillion times that I don't need or I can't afford.

I understand. The problem you run into, especially with hospitals, is the shortage is so large that it takes months to fill one order. The auto system doesn't (apparently) look at what you have already on order. It looks at your country, sees that it needs more hospitals, and orders one.

The only real solution then is to go to the world trade every time you come on and cancel. Hint: cancel the new orders, not the ones that have already been waiting.

Or...how about a checklist? That would be easier still.

Oh come on, it's not that hard to cancel a dozen orders manually. There are far greater click-fests available in SC, try a war, or playing the stock market, lol!

Or why not just get someone else to do everything for you in your life?

Now be nice, Crafty.

You're right about the stock market. One MAJOR pain. I do my own IF investing, and with a dialup connection it takes half a month to click back and forth. And of course, if you start at the beginning of the month the PE ratios are constantly changing, so you have to remember the PE of the stock you just ordered to get back to your place. Now a revamp there would be much more helpful! And of course the gremlins who take over my mouse just at the critical time are gonna get their's some day! :D

Dialup is a real pain. Coming to a computer near me will be Broadband, I hope!
The way it is now this isn't a game, it's a second job.

Noproblem,

You've got that right! The area I live in is the Black Hole of Calcutta for high tech. Surrounded by three mountains (hills actually, but the folks around here have never seen a "real" mountain), no satellite reception, cell phone is hit and miss, although I could get high speed through my cable or landline at a cost of 99 bucks a month. So that's not gonna happen until someone out there decides to pay me what I'm worth! :D
