This seems trivial compared to the decent suggestions appearing on the boards right now, but recent experience has me tossing it out:

When doing manual orders, if you enter a price on the "fixed price" line the "fixed price" button automatically clicks on, which is great. (Anything that gets rid of clicks is great)

Why not have the "set quality" button do the same? If you input a number, the button automatically comes on, if you don't request a specific Q, you get the "any quality" button.

I was burned out last night when I made my last log-in to do supply orders. I let the game do auto orders, but I don't want my FMU orders at the same Q as the rest of my supplies, so I do them manually.

You can probably see where this is going. I forgot to click the "requsted Q" button on about 25 corps, so the FMU were ordered at the "any Q" rate. Needless to say I spent a good amount of time doing new FMU supply orders today, and my corp cost point skyrocketed, meaning profits down.

A different, although probably harder to implement, solution would be to have the auto orders for corps configured the same as that of countries. On the world trade page you can set the orders as to when you want your supplies to be ordered, and how many months supply you want when they are ordered.

A third, again probably more difficult to work out, would be to have the auto-order system allow different Q orders of the various supplies. Want 300Q sand and 100Q FMU in that cement corp? As it is now you'd have to manually order them.

Thanks for your time.

Sounds like a good idea.

Good luck Rep, I asked for different Q ordering ability just for the country order strategies ages ago, when weapon and ammo quality became significant. No joy yet :(

But yeah, your idea goes one better.

Guess it depends on how hard it would be to code it in.

The country order strats should be easier to code than the corp, I would think. And as Jonni mentioned that they will eventually be allowing countries to contract, different Qs on order strats for countries would be great.

Figured if I offered 3 increasingly difficult coding requests maybe they'd accept the first one! :)

BTW,

I'm still working on a couple of corps' FMU!

I run 100Q FMU, 160Q on the other supplies in my corps (unless they're country feeders, then it's all 100Q). I don't see a major Q loss from doing it this way, and a 4M FMU is a lot better than 12M+, which is what I got stuck with on my "mistake" orders. 300Q on all, the perverse suckers. Which bumped my average Q to 200, since I order 10 months when they hit 10 months supply.

So I had to order 10 months @ 100 to bring avg. to 170, etc. The good news is I won't have to worry about FMU orders in those 25 corps for almost a RL week!
