Instead of paying for a lease which is 4 gold coins for 5 weeks, I think you should instead pay from country cash, maybe something like 200B a week, that way there would be a lot more people filling up the docks and ultimately a lot more space trade as a result

Definitely agree that some additional form of 'parking' needs to be added.

It used to allow unlimited number of Cargo Shuttles to 'park' for free there, and the docks were just used as a way to store or sell, but were --not needed to buy-- which is basically what is needed again.

'Free parking' for buyers. Sellers need to lease or buy a dock. Simple.

Agreed.

I don't mind the cost of leasing as I sell products, but it's a bit much for a buyer to pay 5 GCs to lease a dock they may not use again and just so they can buy some missiles or whatever.

At least you both agree with me, because paying 5 gold coins to lease a dock, not everyone has gold coins but I don't even like the idea of paying with gold coins as I think its ludicrious, common sense tells me it should be from your main country cash and then that way it will give newer players a chance to experience the space trade on this game which of course will benefit all of us who are selling products, there would definitely be a lot more players in the space trade of which could fetch us a lot more gold coins quicker when selling.

I wanted them to convert all the pricing in space to cash previously. People don't think in GCs and the way they present the pricing is confusing.

The having to rent a dock to buy anything is more of a self-defeating action. It stifles the business potential, whereas reverting to the free to buy method would make it more equitable.

Why sail into space for a one time purchase at .25GC if I've got to rent a place for a month at 5GC?

The GC cost is indeed the only reason why I am not yet using it. It is way too difficult to reach higher game levels (with GC awards) where space trade is benefitial for my country. As long as space costs GC, the number of players using it will probably stay low.

So why does'nt somebody do a vote poll on this subject? I can't as i've already done a vote poll myself recently on the large empires subject.

Most movements in space are now between worlds without the need to use docking stations.

once there will be more reasons to use space stations and it will become beneficial in more ways, the 5 gold coins per month will not be a problem.

once you are able to have 10 mobile military units sitting in a docking station and usable anywhere you might find it a good reason.

These units will have a much reduced maintenance cost. 180 game months of reduced maintenance for 10 of these units might cut your cost by a large chunk of these 5 gold coins.

most players now move products between worlds and trade them there or support their countries by moving products and weapons.

The use of gold coins

you can exchange game money into a gold coins any time you want and it is done directly.
230B - 240B will get you one.

why is it easier to pay 240B than to pay one gold coin?
we have chosen for gold coins on the space trading and direct trading and we see many transactions every day.

we do not have the impression that it is a problem.

I suppose its not a serious problem but thanks for the reply though, its just that some of the new players to this game won't even know how to rent or lease a dock because they won't even know what gold coins are on this game, so to make it easier for them they should'nt be exchanging money for gold coins. I had trouble myself of how to rent or lease a dock when I was new to this game because I did'nt know what gold coins did.

New players cannot play the space game.
they must become full members.

by then, they should know what gold coins are.

Most trade is between worlds probably because:

1. Space travel is mostly used by long-time players to defeat the military spending space restrictions.
2. Nobody wants to rent a dock to buy stuff.

The point about keeping military units in space is all well and good for war players but it's not relevant to space trade.

Buying shouldn't require a dock.

Buying shouldn't require a dock. Is this why nobody is buying my stuff in space!?!?!?

Bingo, pay 5 GC to buy stuff. Why I'm not even worried about using my Dock #1 on Carina. :)

Tom, how about ditching the fee for buyers and imposing a nominal commission from game money to buy products?

Say 1% of the amount spent deducted from the country funds where the shuttle(s) came from?

This would increase the amount of space trading which can only be a good thing from both your point of view and that of the players.

I have to agree Mr. Willard. I have shuttles waiting and some vague plans about what I want to do in space, and yes, fine for inter-world transport to yourself, but I was looking to buy and sell in space. The fees are prohibitive and it is deterring me, and looks like others too, from using the space stations.
Sure, you can move stuff between worlds and then direct trade to others, but isnt that defeating the whole purpose of having the stations? Why bother with them if thats the route you are causing everyone to take?

I'm waiting for full automation of space trade. That is just charge me a fee for moving goods from world to world. (The gamemaster keeps the fee)

Add a space market screen for each country with a space center and every ceo.

.....till then, I wait
