I think we should be allowed to illegalize certain products in our countries, like for example, if we illegalized alcohol, then our country would stop using wine. Any thoughts on this idea I just had?

Yeah it could be a good idea, while illegalizing certain products would probulary increase consumption in other products elsewhere. Maybe you're thinking about when the US had the probition in the 1930s, the movie 'The Untouchables' shows us what it was like at the time.

You could do this already in the trade strategy page. Of course if you turn off buying any product for your country you're going to have people complaining (just as they would in real life, see prohibition again) and this could effect your welfare.
