Currently, "space" has 20 different Space Stations. This creates a huge cost and logistical burden to not only sell but also find and buy products in space. The amount of transactions, offers, and purchases seems extremely low, and probably doesn't even compare to that of a single country, even the smallest, simplest 'Simcountry' one.

The suggestion is to merge the 20 different Space Stations into one, large Space Station, which would then be able to trade all available products at one location. It could be called "CentauDos Space Station".

With one centre of trade, purchasing or leasing one dock would allow for trade in all space products. Those with leases or owning multiple docks could simply have those docks transferred to the one station.

With one, central Space Station, trading in space would probably increase considerably and would also make the enormous investment of purchasing a dock more worthwhile.

The current space trade system with 20 separate, small Space Stations is cumbersome, expensive, and vacuous.

After more than one [earth] year of an "experimental space trade", it is obviously in desperate need of a significant change. One, large "CentauDos Space Station" would be a significant improvement for the Galaxy space trade.

Thank you for considering this suggestion.

Would love to see this.

I'm sure WC3 is making money from the amount of GC required, but perhaps they will see the light?

Anything to make space station trading more active.

I was looking and we have space stations that trade some goods that no one will (ever) trade is space. Theres stations that trade construction and services. I personally think the GM should reduce them to 5stations in total. Each station be renamed to it planet of origin.

LU space station
GR space station
ect.

Then increase the space per dock to like 1.5M units and allow anything to be stored there
Any thoughts

Merging stations to just a few is a good idea and needed move.

Notes: the above summary does not include docks owned or leased by "Gamemaster", or those who have been recognized as "Gamemasters" (aka Robocop, Andy, Jonni Gil, etc.).

"Units" of storage are "space units", and some products may use a very large number of "units" for only one item. For example a missile battery may use 20,000 "units", although it is actually only --1-- item. The total number of items available to trade is much less.

Leases that were made from others who already bought a dock, were not "double-counted" as new leases, but only the leases from "Gamemaster"-owned docks. Those who owned docks, and also had leases, however, were counted separately (there were not too many of those, but there were some).

There were --0-- Cargo Shuttles (the only current ship available) docked on all 20 of the current stations.

Most docks owned or leased were in the military-related stations. Of the 6 stations with 10 or more used docks, 5 were military-related (83.7%) and 1 space-related.

Several stations had only very few docks used, and, in fact, two had --0-- used.

Many docks were owned by the same leaders/accounts on many stations. The total number of docks owned or leased by different owners/leasees is much less.

Examples of those with multiple docks owned or leased were "WildEyes", "Blueserpent", "Keto", "Supersoldierrcp", "Vicardi", "Laguna", "Chiwoo", "David Walker", "Trinitrotoluene", "MattPatton", "RickyHarris", "LordBrunswick", "LordLee", "PresidentM", "RoadhouseBlues", "Gibatronics", "NovaJoe", "RagingPencil", "Magicabe", "CaptainDog", "Inanna" and others.

Summary: Most of the current 20, small stations are performing very poorly and have both very few used docks and also very few products available to trade. There was literally no Cargo Shuttle activity on the stations. The total % use of products, much less than 100% for all stations combined, could easily fit onto one, large space station; in addition, the many leaders who are "double-paying" for multiple docks on small stations, could consolidate the docks owned or leased easily onto one, large station. The total number of docks owned or leased, could in fact easily fir onto even one small station, considering the very high % of docks with the same user (examples listed above).

In conclusion, the trade data from current space trade shows a highly in-effective, cumbersome, and largely in-active "splintering" of the small amount of trade demanded and supplied currently. The current failed system of 20 small stations should be abandoned, and one, large "Centaudos" Space Station should be established to improve the pathetically low "Business and Trade Index" of space as originally, and still currently, implemented.

It is still a good idea. The GMs obviously thought space would be a hit that everyone would use and therefore the space stations would fill up quickly. Turns out some stations are ghost-towns.

Consolidating Space Stations, I agree. However I would recommend at least two if not three should remain. One for Weapons and Ammo and one for everything else. Or One for weapons, one for ammo and one for everything else.
