National/Global Events

Why don't we have a Global culture in some sort, it's like we are just Aliens to eachother that only care of their continental expansion.

We are all on the same planet so we should be united in some ways so, I think that we should have something like the Olympics, Football World Cups Regional Events that unite us together, allow a Nation or Region to Host an event and for each amount of budget they put in for advertiseing these events, thousands more people should come in attendence (also a Tourism aspect should be included) and the attendence will rise or drop depending on the Nations' score/reputation and travel availability (lack of Airports, Lacking transportation, etc.).

The Security Council could also issue Boycotts on neglecting nations and change the locations with a major cost of maintenence of changing the location, and this would be a major economy helping and developing method of keeping us united and Fearless Bluians.

That's an excellent idea! :-)

The question is: how to implement it?

yes

There are already countries generated with random names, companies generated with random names, military units with random names.

I think there should be demographic groups generated with random names as well. Of course they don't have to have any similarity whatsoever to real world groups.

These groups of people could come and go thru migration and you can could make policies like you do with education priorities for example to gradually encourage/discourage their migration. These policies would be displayed publicly so everybody could see your country's stance against/for those groups. Maybe the top 5 largest groups (and an 'other' percentage comprised of smaller residing groups) would be shown on a countrys main page and migration page. Also maybe the maps could have a toggable cultural/demographic overlay.

So like you could have 65pc Aaltonites (modifying a random company name as example) in your country, as well they are spread all over a world or region, but blocked out of or accepted into some countries that identify with that group(s) of people.

This would give countries a reason to have positive or negative relations with each other (to spread or remove or protect groups throughout the world)

Because it's just a game I don't see how anybody would be offended by this. If you want a multicultural country, than you don't have to set/adjust any policies on the migration page. The groups could be randomly created in countries without presidents if there are under a certain number of groups in a world, and then they would begin to migrate into countries with open borders to immigration from 'other' groups.

I think the system would be very simplistic comparative to the other systems already set up and could potentially make things more interesting.

Example: Country/Federation A doesn't approve of Country/Federation B's migration policies and uses that as an excuse to send threats or embargo or go to war with Country/Federation B, unless Country/Federation B adjusts migration policies to accept groups that reside in Country/Federation A.

Another example: Empire A only accepts one or two groups of people in each country it gains control of, and removes other groups from those countries. Empire B sees this pattern, and depending on whether Empire B is comprised of the same or different group, will perhaps have more reason to feel threatened and have aggressive stance with Empire A, or some reason to be friendly with Empire A (maybe Empire B will congratulate or threaten Empire A.

I expect somebody will respond to my suggestion here that it is somehow 'evil' in some way to suggest that not all Sims may not all be same or have the same Sim culture but again I'll point out that this is a simulation, and these groups would have no relation to real world groups, as well in the real world there is a such thing as 'demographic groups' which is evident if you look up countries on Wikipedia, for example, you will see that the demographic situation of a country/city/area is usually a notable attribute whether you believe it should be or not.

If you deeply believe all Sims are the same regardless of a simulated group identity, then as I said before you can choose to have your country accept all demographic groups and you can even choose to have an aggressive stance with those countries that do not share your perspective!

This could be a very subtle but effecting addition to the game mechanics, as it were for example in the Total War (historical cultural AND religious groups) and Distant Worlds (fictional racial groups) series of games.
