Are cell phones really that expensive to Make?

Mobile devices are profitable overall. They do make less then some corporations, but they can make a profit.

If anything the GM should lower the amount of software needed in the production cycle of the corporation. 25-35% of the cost is software alone. Reducing the amount needed in the monthly production process by 30% wouldn't hurt the markets, and increase the profitability by 2-3 Billion a year for the players.

Mobile Devices don't make any money as a CEO company in a c3. Even with 225 quality upgrades
Robotics makes a little
