I'm not 100% sure I understand everything around this mechanic, but if an army unit is disbanded for what ever reason, there should be some sort of notification sent to the player, including the cause of what triggered it. Ideally this would be a mail to the player (similar for manual share transactions).

I have had this multiple times, and I only notice it just casually scrolling through the unit pages and noticing units are missing.

If there's something I'm missing, please enlighten me, but this area seems very opaque at the moment.

Looks like I missed it originally, there was indeed a newspaper article about it:

Sanbernardino Small Supply Unit has been dismantled because *snip* has not enough Missile Interceptors for maintenance and training of the army.

Perhaps this could be turned into a message to the player instead, which would make it much harder to miss.

Also, disbanding an entire unit because it ran out of one type of ammo seems a little extreme. Maybe there could be some other debuff or just a massive lack of quality if an ammo type is missing. Its just tedious work to set it up again, and doesn't really make sense. a unit wouldn't just cease to exist because it ran out of ammo... it would just not have any ammo and be unable to fight properly.

We think that the country newspaper is the right place for such messages.

A disbanded unit is not a major event and mailing messages could become massive.
closed corporations are also candidates.

Please check your newspaper more frequently.

There is a problem with ammo and materials shortages.
Some players do not purchase the materials that are essential in maintaining the army.

Not maintaining the army should have consequences.
The army, if not maintained, is deteriorating at some point and units cannot continue to exist if they are not maintained.

The shortage of ammunition in the army is causing negative numbers of ammunitions and supplies.

then, it is very frustrating when you need to purchase these materials in much larger numbers to compensate for the shortages in the units.
