In my relatively new main country, I've set up a robust natural resources industry of reasonable scope and size to extract my natural resources and contribute to my economy. I have been playing for a couple of months now, and my remaining resources are beginning to look rather thin.
I am going to use the United States as the comparison here, but it applies to most real life countries.
In the United States, the large, rich, and obvious, early deposits were largely played out from the ~1820s through the 1970s, or about 150 years. Advances in technology & methods combined with more thorough exploration has resulted in a smaller overall, but more efficient and profitable mining industry for the next foreseeable several hundred years.
I am 50 years in on my main, and already starting to play out most of my resources. It shouldn't be like this, so I propose a solution:
