Big map info. (Golden Rainbow)

The javascript popups on my big map don`t `popup` so I cannnot get any information from the map. I am having trouble organising my defensive forces to raise my defense force rating, but I can`t even find out where they are!

What exactly are you trying to do Mr. Parker?
The 'big' map is basically for moving stuff around, like your forts or bases, during peace time, or military units during war.
Clicking on units or forts, bases etc in the regular map will get you a pop-up with defenses of that item displayed.
To raise your defensive index you need to have more defensive weapons active, these you put into garrisons at your cities, bases, forts etc. or some form into units, (use the 'war' drop down menu). You could just keep them active but un-deployed and still get the DI points.

That is Exactly the problem-when I click on an icon I DO NOT get get a pop-up. The javascript message appears at the bottom left of the screen but the map just freezes. I have tried waiting some time for the applet to download but nothing happens. I do not have any icons showing where my forces are garrisoned either! - Only supply units.

Garrisons don't have icons. They are built into the city/base/whatever. Military units do have icons (supply units, air wings, divisions, etc).

View garrisons from war > garrisons.

As for your java problem, seems like you need someone more IT knowledgeable.

I keep running into a similar problem. I'm trying to set up an air transport unit. When I get to step 3, select where you want your unit, anywhere I click a pop state "you can place your unit near an offensive airport" but I can't get beyond that. When I try to "select from a list" my one offensive base pops up, but I can't get beyond that. How do I set up a second offensive airport, do I need to, how do I place my air transport unit so i can set up a remote depot?

maybe update your java version, and check to be sure you don't have multiple windows open. When dismantling certain units another window will pop up. If both windows remain open when you make new units you will be able to build them, but not place them. When this happens, I would suggest closing windows until you have only one open. Load the simcountry Portal page and then log into whatever country you want to make units in. You can avoid having to do all that by simply being absolutley sure you do not attempt to create new units of any kind until you have only one window open at a time. Hope it helps.

Cool, Inanna, I didn't realise that. The work around for Joes problem I use is to dismantle or move whatever unit is covering the airport/base in the map and then build the new unit, clicking on the now free airport/base in the map to place it. Once its on its merry way the old unit can be rebuilt.
