Off means Off: Automated setting should not turn back on (Golden Rainbow)

When turning off the automatic settings, they should permanently stay off, unless the "President" or CEO changes them manually.

This occurred in the first country started on Golden Rainbow a long time ago, and has happened to many new countries with the "Automated Help" features "magically" turning back on after certainly being turned off.

Then, in the corporation control, Production Level, Hiring Level, and Product Retained have all been seen to turn back to "automatic" control after being switched to manual.

Off means Off.

Actually, i have the reverse problem, i wanted the automatic setting for hiring/production for State Corporations keep it keeps magically turning itself off, even after i have set it "on" and then saved, multiple times in a single day >.>

You may want to check a couple things. First go to your "auto settings" for new corps. Make sure you have your hiring/production set on auto there.

Then take a look at your corp "hiring/production" page and check all the corps out there to make sure they are set at what you want.

And although it's 6 months old I think I have an answer for CP. When I first came on board for my second SC run, I set the Ed. priorities to manual, and every month the thing changed the health priorities upward and I had to change them, and next month there they were again!

What I discovered was that I had left the auto on for the health index, and it overrode my manual settings so I was ending up with 130 on my ed. priorities.

After I killed all the autos (ed. priorities, health, and education) things got normal.

I have killed the automation on LU countries, and it still keeps building soybean corps as soon as my back is turned. Gettin tired of it.

Hey Mac, GM told me personally that a country in poor shape will have its auto settings overidden by the machine, to try to prevent complete collapse I suppose. I have no idea if this is the case in your country but maybe you have really high unemployment or something?

I started a country on LU yesterday. One of the very first things I did was to turn off automatic features including new corp building.

Today I have a new glass corp which I didn't request.

And neither did I need. The country was in fairly good shape and employment was over 80%.

Cool, glass is going to be a valuable resource.

In line with the OP, I'm a little peeved right now.

Opened a poultry corp, basically just as a feeder for my country and a corp for my CEO (working towards my level 5, gotta get to 100 corps), not really looking for a big money maker. As soon as it opened I went to the corp auto settings and turned off quality upgrades and set supply level to 100. And contracted full production to my main.

Glanced at it second month, big loss. No biggie so I thought, first month of a full out contract is always a big loss.

Missed a month being off line, came back and corp is showing huge loss. I look at it, all it's supplies are at 150+, and it has a quality upgrade ordered!

I already know the explanation. In the individual corp settings the stuff is right. BUT in the "new corp" auto settings I have it set to do upgrades and order 160Q supplies. So apparently the new corp auto overrode the individual settings

Sounds like fowl play to me, never mind, its only a paultry one corp so your losses should be chicken-feed.

Self ordered a pile of 100Q supplies to bring my cost point down. Starting an advertising campaign in my main for people to "Eat mor chickn". (U.S. readers should pick up on that one.)

Which brings me to a new one: trade strats. What I like to do is to get 10 month backup supply on whatever I produce and use, in my strategic supply. In the beginning (where have I heard that?) I build and buy corps that match my supply needs. Then, after I get a 10 month cushion, I adjust the contracts to only provide what my country uses. While I'm building my supply I contract at market +5% so my country doesn't pay out the you know.

That's the background. I reached my levels, so went to my CEO, told him change the contracts and pump out the profits. Standard market +30 simchurch recommendation, adjusted by market conditions.

The problem with quality of supplies is also affecting trade strategies.

I have mine set to how I want them but new corps are being set to sell at 90-10 and buy at 108+8.

Time to dereg and find a game that is bug-free.

when you turn automation off, it stays off for ever.

there is one situation when automation is turned on by the game:

this is when the country is in a very bad situation, losing heavily, has a very high unemployment rate, salaries that are very high and cannot be paid etc.

These automatic corrections also make sure you have the workers you need to grow the economy.

the automatic system switches off if:

1. The country economy is improving
2. If the country is in game level 4 or higher.
3. if the player is playing longer than 6 months.

you can also go to the automation page, the link is in the header of the portal page, and explicitly turn off these help functions.

I understand your point, and I agree with the premise behind it.

Where the problem (or part of it) comes from is the interlocking auto systems. If you turn one auto off you may miss one of the interlocking auto systems.

I.E., when I first rejoined I initially had the country auto systems on until I refamiliarized myself with how things work. Once I had done that, the first thing I changed to manual was setting the ed. priorities. However, if you do not also turn off the interlocking "health" and "education" auto systems those systems will encroach on the ed. priority. To give my specific example, I turned down my health priorities to 8 across the board as that was sufficient for the number of hospitals I was buying at the time. However, because my health score was too low the health auto system consistently bumped them to 10, and the education auto did the same to the teachers, etc,leaving me with an

Rep, seems to me that in your case, when you commisioned the new corp with your auto settings for new corps then that is what you got. AFTER the corp was built you changed its settings and so these will come into play after the 160 supplies have been used up and the upgrades should stop, is this now the case?

Honestly couldn't tell you. I went to the new corp auto, changed that, double checked the list page.

Then I went to the corp and manually ordered double shot 100Q of all supplies. One positive, I now have 50 months worth of supplies for it!

So it's very likely you're right about that. But I do know for certain that if you change over to self ed. priorities before your indexes are high enough in Health and schools you need to also disable the individual H&S autos. As soon as I did that my ed. priorities were no longer affected.
