Andy,

I've not had a reply from anyone to my query in help, so I guess this is a problem. Hence I'm posting it here.

For some time, when I try to build a new corporation I have been getting a message saying I cannot build new corporations because I own too many.

Section 13 of the documentation section on Enterprises (which is solely what I have got) states that you cannot build new after you own more than 700 corporations (therefore by implication you can build new for anything below 700). I have never reached that level! I now have 528 corps, but have been getting the message since I had around 2-300.

To date it has not mattered much to my strategy, but shortly I want the ability to sell off some existing majority holdings to build new, so I really need to know why I can't build.

Many thanks in advance!

Andy,

Now I am getting a message that I cannot purchase shares in any more corporations because I already have shares in 505 corporations.

The documentation (again Enterprise section 13) says:

"A CEO can purchase shares of corporations on the share market and try to become the largest shareholder. Once the CEO is the largest shareholder, the corporation is added to the holdings of the enterprise.

There is no limit to the number of corporations a CEO can add to her/his holdings using this procedure."

Therefore, why am I being blocked from buying shares?

I wouldn't mind so much, but I just IPO'd a number of corporations, so my balance went towards share ownership and obviously over this mythical 505 limit. I need not have done that and probably wouldn't if I had known the consequences.

Either the written rules are incorrect or there is an issue in the programming. An answer soon please, I don't like playing games with one hand tied behind my back!

We will check the documentation.
limits always existed, changed and reported both on the forum and the game news.

if not in the documentation, it will be added.

Ok, thanks.

To add insult to injury though, I just counted my privately held corporations: 43

Deducting that from my total of 538 gives 495.

I've not counted my Enterprise controlled corporations, therefore not confirmed my holding as 538, just trusting the computer.

If the limit is 505, why am I stopped at 495?

I will check the limit.
I think it is 500 but the count is not updated immediately, there could be requests outstanding that may have been counted already.

The limit is 750 for full members.
300 for free players.

Andy, if 1500 is the max you can get with 2 CEOs on a world it would be nice to have a little space between max game lvl and maxed out numbers of CEO Corps. Just for the case of having max game lvl and someone hostile bids on corps it would be better to have some kind of buffer even if its only 10 Corps or so

*cough* hmm...I wonder why there is a Player (Jo) with 1606 Corps in his two Enterprises combined if the Limit is 750 each? Somehow that doesnt add up ;)

as you might know, in addition to your own build corporations, there are ways to increase the number by the purchasing of shares.
we have seen enterprises with 900 to 1000 corporations.

Of course I know that but reading your Posts here and on the equivalent thread in the help section one gets the Impression 750 is the definite max number of ownable Corps. So 750 is building max and no Limit on total owned Corps gained.

And that last remark might not be meant like it but sounds a little uppity as it very well could be one have been able to gain more in the past and Keep them while due to game changes one isnt able to do so today, not saying it is that way but might be possible

We have not intended it to be much higher than 750 when the limit was set but it was obvious from the start that the limit could be broken.

we did not make any change in the past years to enfoce the 750 limit and have no intention to make any changes now.
