There is a thread about this in the "Suggestions" forum -- but the more time I spend manually ordering supplies, the more I feel like this is a big PROBLEM.

Why is it countries can toggle the supply ordering strategies for corporation by setting a low-water mark + order quantity , but enterprises can't? Is there actually a reason for this or is it an oversight?

I have the exact same trade and supply strategies for my countries as I do for my enterprise, and yet only my enterprise has problems with certain corporations that consistently face supply shortages -- that is, UNLESS I manually order the supplies, which TAKES FOREVER.

Because only certain corporations have this problem, and because these tend to be previously failing president-controlled corporations that I have purchased on the stock market, I strongly suspect that whatever supply ordering strategies were set by the president carry over when I buy the corporation -- and then I have no way of adjusting them. How frustrating!

It boggles my mind to wonder why this oversight was not fixed years ago. Everything about managing corporations seems to be the same for presidents and CEO's, except for this. I'm open minded -- if there's a reason for this discrepancy, then I'd love to hear it.

It's not like I'm suggesting some completely novel feature that has never been part of the game. It already exists for president-controlled corporations! Please, just add a tab under trade for order strategy and quality!

CORRECTION: actually, neither Presidents nor CEOs are able to toggle the supply ordering strategies for corporations.

Presidents are able to do this only for supplies that are consumed by the country, not for supplies that are used by country-controlled corporations.

This rules out my theory about supplying ordering strategies carrying over from previously President-controlled corps purchased on the stock market -- and only deepens the mystery about why certain of my CEO-controlled corporations have chronic supply shortage problems, but my President-controlled corporations do not (despite identical trade strategies).

I would still like to see this change made. If anyone feels the same way - I just started a poll about this. Go to Home / Voting & News / Vote on Simcountry Proposals and Features / Permit Management Corporation Supply Ordering Strategies.

There was a recent vote about it and we have responded, saying that we will add this feature.

It is now on our short term program and will be implemented in the coming weeks.

The setting of the order period will have a minimum number of months you can not go under.

We have to keep this at some minimum because otherwise, if corporations start ordering everything each month or two, we will have hundreds of thousands more orders each game month (4 hours). there is then a performance issue.

other than that, the features makes a lot of sense and as I said, it will be implemented.
