Cannot Move Navy Base

When attempting to move the Navy Base (Fleet Command) to another position from the map control window, the system tells me:

"You can't use this window to relocate Fleets!"

I've also went to try to move the navy base from Army >> Military Units >> Navy Fleets.

When clicking on the name of the navy base (in this case, Baritta Navy Base), a small window appears. After clicking on the Navy Map link underlined blue text, a third small window appears.

Here is the link to it below:

The top-left corner of the window displays a broken image icon (you can tell by the way the page has the tear across it) and the only button to directly interact with the map zooms it out.

Clicking on the desired country, Tremont, does not succeed in helping me to relocate this object's position.

Exactly how can this navy base be relocated to a better position?

Please reply back soon!

Please excuse me Shu Pei. I don't understand what you mean.

How can this help me move the Navy Base (Fleet Command) object on the world map?

Woodland. Move your naval fleets only...

The Navy Base (Fleet Command) is located on land and it is very unnatural.

Also, the naval fleets must be positioned at the Navy Base. However, both are on land.

From my two countries next to it bordering the sea, both Navy Bases are in the water.

Perhaps one of the staff could help me?
How can this navy base be relocated to a better position?

Screenshots will be furnished upon request.

What does this have to do with the issue, Shu Pei?

Shu Pei, do you work for W3Creative?

Please understand that this is a bug report needing to be addressed by the people responsible for Simcountry.

Hoping this will be seen by the Gamemaster or by support from W3Creative.

As far as I know, you can't move your naval base, but of course you can move your fleet to any desired location.

It's currently this way.

Doesn't this seem unusual? Everything else can be moved around to another position - Space Center, Off. Base, Off. Airport, Capitals, Fortifications, etc.

However, this is an object that cannot be relocated.

Tactically, this can prove problematic if it can't be repositioned to a point that can be defended.

I don't believe you can destroy a naval base. It is your fleets that you need to defend.

Well, this too is unrealistic!

You can destroy a defensive military base, offensive military base, defensive airport, offensive airport, strategic military base, and strategic military airport if there are more than one in existence in the country.

Most every other target that I am aware of can be destroyed by conventional means (Capital, Space Center, Cities, Towns, Factory, etc).

However, at least to provide the means to defend it's weapons from damage and destruction is an important factor. Being able to move this object can facilitate it.

Simcountry nations are geographically very small compared to their real life counterparts. Imagine a country the size of Wales or Scotland.. How many naturally occurring harbours are there of the perfect size and draft for an intercontinental fleet, which also match strategic requirements and other concerns such as proximity to urban centres etc? Especially when in SC the whole nation can be landlocked :P

Just look at the UK's Trident programme, I think the review found only 2-3 sites in all of the British Isles that would have been suitable.

That's my reasoning :D

Well, it needs not be perfect.

However, it does need to be on the ocean front and not in the middle of land!

Tactically, it be important for relocation and deployment. It's not immediately known or clear where in this area navy fleets can move and, more importantly, where the Navy Base can be defended.

Simply to be able to relocate it would solve this problem.

If this were only possible!

Haha, so tough luck for those landlocked countries? That's roughly 75% of the current country stock, by the way :-P

Relocation would be handy, but there are much more pressing errors within the game that also need to be addressed!

I believe the problem is that the system considers the Navy Base as a military fleet unit.

I believe the Navy Base should be a structure, very much like a harbor.

Perhaps this can be corrected in the next update?

Perhaps the Navy Base need not necessarily be a harbor; I do stand corrected on it.

However, whether it is a structure very much like a harbor or similar to the Pentagon, it is still a world map object and not a military fleet unit.

This SHOULD be a movable object!

Navy bases serve very limited purpose. From game updates:

11. Navy Bases [ top ]

Navy bases have a very limited function in Simcountry. A navy base is needed for a country to be able to order navy weapons and ammunition but when a base is available, there is no additional function.
We have now made sure that these bases cannot be attacked, do not show numbers of weapons as these numbers were not correct in some cases and caused a lot of confusion

They cannot be attacked. Land-locked countries can indeed have a navy and naval units can be formed and, in my experience, given any destination in water and they will make it there, through land if they have to. There is no game-effecting issue. As Dub said, other priorities would be more beneficial to the game.
