Ok... My nations costs have raised dramatically in the past game months. to where I went from making a 10B$ Profit then all of a sudden, in 4 months, It becomes negative and in 8 months, it is now -10B$ and dropping. This has never occured to me before, nor do I understand why my costs are raising dramatically as they are. Even My Military costs have risen and I dont even have a proper military or bought any military units in my entire existence byfar. All of my government services have risen but I havent even bought ANY schools, Hospitals or Infrastructure... WTH!?

I'm not the GM obviously but I just checked your country and I second this. We need a GM response because your country indexes and infrastructure have stayed the same, and the profit has been increasing and decreasing with a normal pattern, however every single cost is rising at the same rate each month. There is something very wrong there. This is a very interesting find for me, can't wait for someone to tell me what's going on here. I checked and rechecked my main countries on FB and they're functioning normally, I also looked around at other empires and they're also functioning normally. You're the only one with this problem it seems right now. Lucky you.( jk )

Now I'm #2 :*( WHO WOULD WANT TO BE #2 *sobbing*) Maybe just need to start Genociding these damn immigrants in my country, maybe that is the issue. (look what this has done to us, these right wing conservative ignorant country-bumkin-cucks have taken over the Parlament) *pls halp we're losing our shit over here. :*(

Ok, now this is seriously pissing me off.... in a matter of 5 1/2 days i have lost 1.5 Trillion (or more) and my rank from 34 to 63 my assets and cash have been in a steady decline and my costs have also but alot better than yesterday, however, i dont have any reason or explanation as to why my costs have risen dramatically. Keep in mind that I have not spent any of my money on improving sertain aspects of my government services, Especially after these costs have changed so dramatically.

Ok, I just checked and you're fucked LOL.

Your education system costs you 35 BILLION a month and your health care system costs 50 BILLION.

The GM really needs to check this. @Andy, mind helping us out?

He didn't order like 30 hospitals did he?
I have done accidents before on ordering things and ended up with a huge deficit. I know the game does this because you don't have a deficit at that time but there really should be a safety that says "Hey, you just ordered 500 billion on AA guns. Are you sure you wanted to do that?"

Eugene, no. I got more hospitals and schools than him but pay less than 10% what he does on hospitals and schools each month. His costs went up to 150 a month for a population of only like 30.

Hint: It's not military that's eating up his costs.

And I haven't payed for ANYTHING that would make the costs just go haywire and end up costing this amount of money. And like Seize said, I also do not have an (actual) military, but all of the costs just rose without any warning or anything thats showed in Cash Log.

I haven't risen any cost, and my infrastructur, health and education sectors are decaying (as normally) but my cost just boosted up for no reason.

No point in even telling anyone what you did/didn't do. The costs are obviously higher then they should be by far.

Here are some comparisons.

Zenovian State of Echo:
842 hospitals
20 War Hospitals
10 Special Clinics
22,720.94M SC$ health monthly cost

22,194 Schools
14,791 High Schools
205 Universities
14,187.57M SC$ education monthly cost

149,077.75M SC$ Total country cost( 92,299.86M SC$ if you take out defense cost )for 122,709,160 population

Zentralbank des Razschen Reich:
317 Hospitals
180 Special Clinics( which is WAY too much and you should consider closing like 160 of them )
47,299.11M SC$ health monthly cost

8071 Schools
6193 High Schools
123 Universities
35,163.12M SC$ education monthly cost

115,583.06M SC$ Total country cost for 37,369,678 population

I have over 2x the size of education but less then half the cost. Idk why the gm are ignoring this thread and not fixing the problem. My country has roughly 4x the population with 20B less cost LOL THIS IS HILARIOUS TBH, and tragic.

This thread has been up for 6 days now. The least GMs can do, and any admins or devs should do is respond and interact with the community about issues that arises.

Even if the GMs are taking care of the issues or are aware about it, they should at least be acknowledging it and telling us they're aware of it.

Oster, cut your social security from 100% down to 80%.

Then close 75 universities. Your education index should be around 125, not 254 like your university. Close 1,000 high schools and 1,000 regular schools.

You have too many special clinics. You need only 40-50 for your pops, probably even less. Gut 130 of them.

Bring down your corps salary index to 300.0

A salary index of 700.0 is absurd. No reason to have a salary index this high.

After you do this, your country should improve drastically.

It was going so well for 5 months of beeing a Social Democratic Utopia. Then this happend, what if it isnt that and all my hard work and Social goals just goes down the drain. All because of some glitch.

Lol, socialism would be providing a living wage. When you have a social security target of 100%, you're really just giving lazy bums who don't want to work a 100k salary similar to those who do work. Living wage should really be 30k.

Cut social security, otherwise what's the incentive to work if you're getting paid the same anyway? Cut it to 80%.

A salary index of 100.0 is normal. Having it be 300 is 3x times. That's very generous.

What I suggested would be socialism anyway. Yours just made it so that they'd live lavishly.

I could give a longer explanation of what is happening but I will simply tell you how to fix the costs side of your finances.

1. Drop education index to 120. Make sure that the indexes for schools, high schools, and universities is close together around 120.

2. Similarly drop health and transportation indexes to 120 and drop social security index to ~82. For social, note that this is the index, not payments. For an index of ~82, set payments to 70.

3. Go to trade-> "Order Strategy and Quality". Set all items to be purchased at 300 quality except for the following, "Aircraft Fuel |Books and Newspapers |Medical Equipment |Medical Materials |Military Services |Military Supplies |Pharmaceutical Products |Road Maintenance |Services |Traintracks maintenance |Water maintenance |". Set those items to be purchased at 120 quality. This step is very important and is the primary reason for the confusion at the top of this thread.

4. Cancel all contracts, if any, pertaining to items being purchased by your country.

Follow these steps adequately and I guarantee the costs side of your government finances will be brought under control with no noticeable loss of any benefit you might believe the higher indexes were gaining you. Even game score is likely to be improved as your finance index increases as a result of your budget being brought under control. You also have opportunities to increase the income side of the equation but that can be saved for another thread.

I am interested what the GM response to this is and my curiosity might have caused me to delay this post. Is W3C interested in adding someone to the team who understands the game like no other player? I have written a number of guides and just about any player who has developed a good level of skill from the game in the last year has benefited from those guides, my answers on the forum, or in chat. I am sure we can work something out.

@Öster Schwan
I had a look at your country and found what's causing your financial troubles.
Your government salary target is set to 2240, Try bringing it back down closer to around 300.
Your corporations are almost all at 700, Try bringing this down significantly as well.

Once you do that, your finances will recover

If you put such a target, salaries increase by several points each game month.
It takes some time to get there but at such a level, salaries of teachers, nurses, doctors and all other government workers are such that the total cost of health, education and government is way too high.
The army too.
