During my last c3 war, one of the problems I noticed concerned the supply system. Supply units are replenishing the military units I created without regard to the limits I set.

This is a problem. Having allowed the benchmarks to be put in, there is no reason why the automation should disregard those orders. If, for whatever reason, those benchmarks are not valid or desired by the GM's, they should be in unit creation. Once allowed, they should be valid, and the basis of any resupply operation.

Units were supplied 4 at a time. A number that seems familiar to me from my repeated efforts to dismantle garrisons. I am not sure why that arbitrary number was chosen. (indeed it may be 5 with "rounding errors"). I can understand why there is some kind of a limit, to keep processing time down, but that's a matter for suggestions, and et al. However, it might be information you need to begin fixing the supply feature.

Cordially yours,
MNey

I am not sure what you mean.

Supply levels are defined per unit, or a garrison and I have never seen any evidence showing that the levels are not kept but there could be a problem.

The supply system is executed by supply units. To have it work correctly, you need enough supply units, and you need all the ammo and other materials to be available in the country.

The supply units are moving back and forth all the time during war and hopefully they can keep the units supplied.

The number of supply units you need depends on the size of the army and the intensity of the war. If you do not have enough of them, units will run out of ammo or gasoline etc.

Set up a military unit.

Player sets the default for weapon types and ammuniton.

Supply system ignores the defaults when supplying the unit.

The problem is not the number of supply units. There are evidently enough of them to change the defaults set by the player. As they are being supplied.

If there are ratios that have to be obeyed, they should be in unit creation. Not bootstrapped via the logistics system.

The supply units are indeed moving during war time. Per parsing phase, as intended. (that was more thinking out loud then a complaint, and should not have been included in the post, my apologies.)
