I've been getting newspaper reports along the lines of :

-------------------
Army units in Panther are not replenished.
Thu Oct 11, 4260 No Supply Units.
There are army and garrison units that were not replenished for more than 12 months.

Please setup Supply units to replenish your forces.
-------------------

There are 51 supply units in Panther (on FB) right now (and for many game years) and most of them are idle at any particular point in time, so it looks like there is some kind of tracking problem with the supply units (or the units and garrisons that are due to be supplied).

I have wondered in the past if garrisons can become "stranded" if a state corp changes ownership to become an enterprise owned corp (which no longer needs a garrison) .. what happens to the existing garrison at that point?

Trout,

Make sure you have enough Ammunition, Weapons, Military Supplies, and Military Services, to replenish the units.

If you have all the materials needed, and you have plenty of supply units. It's likely caused by a bug.

Simcountry uses a different system to organise supplies in peace time vs war time. So that peace time units don't place to much load on the servers.

However, to be blunt, the peacetime resupply system is so buggy, it's almost useless. It results in supply units failing to resupply units, failing to deploy or undeploy garrisons, and failing to correctly measure the rate at which supplies are used, resulting in the automatic system failing to order enough supplies.

The supply system is so buggy, I honestly don't know why the GM's haven't just gotten rid of it already. Sure having supplies teleport to units wouldn't be "realistic", but at least it would actually work, unlike the current system.

Yes, it looks like everything that is needed is in stock (it's basically gasoline and military supplies that the unsupplied units are lacking, both are in surplus on the market and I have good reserves of them).

Maybe we just need to complain more to get bugs fixed. :)

For a while I've simply been dismantling and rebuilding the army units and supply units which seems to fix the problem for a while, but maybe only until the first time they need resupplying - I wasn't checking in such detail.

You're probably right about the supply system and I imagine that it's fairly complicated behind the scenes. Hopefully the newspaper messages could at least become accurate though, the ones I've been getting specifically say "No supply units" and "Set up supply units" .. information which is provably false.

Trout,

I find they usually resupply units at first, then for some reason, every so often they decide to just stop working, for no apparent reason.

When it's military units, you can just disband and reform them, (although that is very annoying have to keep doing all the time).

However, for garrisons, it's more serious. Since in order to disband a garrison, a supply unit has to come and collect it, meaning that if the supply units aren't responding to it, you can't even disband it.

The only way around it I've found so far, is to use the "disband all military units" option, which also disbands garrisons, even without supply units picking them up.

The problem with that, is that you have to redeploy literally the entire military, every time one garrison decides to stop calling for supplies properly. Which just isn't sustainable long term.

Because of this, I ended up having to give up on Simcountry's war game. Hopefully one day they fix it. (GMs If it would place to much load on the server, to have supply units work, just get rid of them, and let units take the items they need directly from the national stockpile. The same way everything else in the game entire game works already).
