A number of times now I have requested a corporation to be built, gotten approval from the host nation, and then the corporation request just vanishes without the corporation being built. It's extremely annoying.

No messages are generated to explain this so I'm assuming it's a bug.

Maybe a bug but I have never heard of it and never had a similar complaint in all the years the feature works.

Got approval?

what was the sequence of events?

Sequence was:
1) I propose corporation (electric power in The Republic of Oured, Great Rainbow.)

2) Host country (The Republic of Oured, Great Rainbow) approves the request to build.

3) I logout for the night

4) I log in the next morning, the request is gone, no corporation was built, no messages were sent, nothing in the newspaper to explain this.

This is the third or fourth time it's happened. It's rare, but I'm guessing either it got eaten by some kind of memory error due to a weird corner case, or (probably more likely) some condition for a corporation to be built wasn't met, and it just didn't throw any kind of message to that effect.

We will do some debugging and may find out.

You know that many times, the corp market value may increase above the offered price and the transaction does not happen.

This is to build a new corporation, not purchase one.

An auction bid failing I would expect to be exactly as you describe, but this is new construction.
