LU Asset Maintenance 4 year order wait

The Asset Maintenance orders for my country aren't being fill in LU for 4 years. I think this is too long. My countries are consistently short on AM as well as Defensive Weapon Maintenance. I have an Enterprise but AM is often not being produced because of the huge lag time for Cargo Shuttles. I think you should maybe divide the AM and not have it working in so many different areas like Roads and countries, while also doing space shuttles. But addressing the AM lag in orders needs to take priority. Grand Basilka and related empire countries.

Once in a while shortages like this happen, eventually it will level out. In around ten years the order will change to immediate and fill. If the shortages bother you do immediate orders for a several month supply.

If you want to avoid it you need about one Asset Maint corp for each country with contracts to the country. Because of their low profit margin they don't do well when controlled by a CEO. You then have to babysit them to make sure they are supplied.

The cheapest and least time consuming is do nothing and take the hit on your supply index.

Thanks for the message JohnV. I don't find this a solution though. First off you have to be level 4 to have any of these companies. The fact that there are currently 3 products on a 7 year gap signals a deeper problem, one that should be addressed at the development level. If a product is unprofitable, if everyone needs it, then there is an issue. The fact that you have to babysit these companies because of space shuttles, which so few countries need but this essential corporation has to stock is ludicrous. Seems to me like this needs some attention from the development end.

There are severe shortages in some products and delivery time can be long.
However, the market determines how this is processed and if there is a shortage, it is not for the GM to resolve.

You can, as john said, replace some orders by immediate ones.
It costs more but a low supply index can cause much more damage.

many C3 countries automatically start new corporations to produce products that are in severe short supply.
Hopefully also some players will discover the potential in these corporations and build some.

In the mean time, immediate orders provide a quick solution.

Check your country shortages (the page is in the Trade menu), to see if you have shortages and resolve them with immediate orders.

shortages reduce the supply index. A low supply index reduces the welfare index and can drag the entire industry down.
