I mistakenly clicked on to take over a country I won against during war 😑 how do I let the country go and end the empire.

Because I only want to rule my country

On the home page, above your countrys, click the "add" button.

Find the cancel country button, then select the country you want to abandon simple as that.

Make sure to remove anything valuable before canceling, this is actually how people raid or make money via war.
