August Aurelius | Sunday, April 13, 2025 - 05:57 am I turned off automation but I am still seeing huge orders for random stuff that keeps depeting me of cash. I have purposefull purchases, and corps get what they need, but things like 20M construction, 42M medical supplies, 25M Gas resources (Not Gasoline), random stuff like that. Is there maybe a optimal resource reserve limit that the CPU tries to reach before it stops mass spending of tons of random stuff I do not immediately need? |
hymy1 | Sunday, April 13, 2025 - 10:40 pm MMMM, all of those things are not random. They are things where I have noticed surges in population consumption. My going hypothesis is that the GM is tinkering with a feature that modulates the consumption of products by countries in response to the market conditions. EG some floods the electricity market... Then the countries respond to cheaper electricity and start using more. It's kinda of realistic but super annoying. |
Andy | Friday, April 18, 2025 - 03:22 pm If you turn off auto purchasing then there is no purchasing. you population may emigrate quickly for lack of materials, but that is another issue. Your population is using all the materials you mentioned and the money government spends for these materials, comes back to the governments from the income of the population. You can see the numbers on the financial pages. You can set triggers to purchasing and decide on the reserves you want to keep. lowering them, will risk more shortages. You already have disastrous shortages that cause the population to leave your country. make sure there are no product shortages in your country. this is essential for your economy. turning auto orders off will certainly destroy the economy. |
Andy | Friday, April 18, 2025 - 03:29 pm Hymy, None of what you said here is taking place. the GM has better things to do. the consumption model is fixed for a long time. The most recent change we made was to split the spending on cars to spending on cars (most of it) and spending on electric cars. Purchasing takes place when the country stock goes under the "low limit". It then orders producuts for a set number of months. both low limit and the number of months are set by the player on the consumption page. The numbers are set per products and the number of orders per game month and the size of the orders depend on the setting on that page. It can vary from month to month. |
rob72966 | Saturday, April 19, 2025 - 12:30 am Andy, I think the problem is, the game keeps reordering until the product comes in. Sometimes over 120 months will be supplied. Rob |
Andy | Sunday, April 20, 2025 - 04:17 pm When ordering, we always check for outstanding orders. Otherwise the entire function would become obsolete. there are products that are used in very small numbers. In these cases, the computation fails some time due to minimum use per game month and rounding. I do not think you will see orders that are exceeding the high limits by a large margin for any large number of products. |
mrp8196 | Sunday, May 18, 2025 - 10:13 am I have shortages in supplies and people. I just started. 48% employment and cant build a company. Why does it do that when you start out. 3 supply shortages gas, electric cars and off maintain. Also it spent over 1 trill in a month. Where did the loan page go. It keeps wanting me to use GC. Also it went up a level early. All requirements not met. |
