In response to Galdriel's question. Basically when you fight a war with a c3 that is bordering your country their air defenses are much stronger than when you are fighting a war with a country that is not directly next to the country you are attacking it with. I don't know why this is, but trust me there is a huge difference and I suggest to not fight a country next to yours unless you use long range divisions with medium range missile batteries and offensive anti aircraft batteries.
Basically Aries was saying to set up air transport units consisting of 25 transport planes each. Along with special forces units. So if you have 4 special forces units, you'll need 100 transport planes to make 4 air transport units. You can airdrop those special forces in the country you're attacking and those special forces units are only to paint or occupy territory. Using attack and bombing wings consisting of 100 bombers and 300 fighters( I use 120 bombers with 280 fighters )you attack the defenses of counties or towns until ints stop responding and then destroy the interceptor wings directly so that they're not resupplied. With new updates on how wars are now fought you must completely destroy targets that are in your special forces path in order to move them. Besides counties and towns. This does take more time, and costs more in bombs. However now since you gain more population and resources with war then you have before the update I believe it's worth it.
Now this has little to do with the post itself, in my opinion the way c3 wars are now are much much more beneficial to the attacker. I see a lot of criticizing on the way wars are fought now, but when it comes to c3 wars it is much more beneficial to me. However once you start fighting war level 3 using fighter/bomber wings aren't nearly as cost effective as before with 200 interceptors per wing now. My bombers went down like flies.
However using just one MRMB OAAB long range division @330q of 500 medium range missile batteries and 630 offensive anti aircraft batteries you can easily take all of the helicopter wings down without losing many mrmb at all.( you can attack any country within 1000 miles this way, if any further you must use airdrop a rapid deployment unit )I then use the unit to directly destroy the rest of the interceptor wings, which does use a bit of offensive anti aircraft missiles but it costs way way less than losing hundreds of bombers. I will use the bombers to destroy the rest as my special forces paint. Of course you could opt into a full land war, but that's already been discussed.
