1. A New Version of the Forum Application is Installed Today
As we promised, a new version of the forum is now available. It resolves several problems and ommissions we had in the first release.

Changes in the new version:

A new tab when you click the forum option

When you click to start the forum, anywhere in Simcountry, it will open a new tab. you can leave the new tab open or you could close it when done. The next time you click on the forum option, the new tab will open.

Easy access to previous posts and long pages

when you view lists of responses on the forum, it is easier now to reach older posts on the pages. The next command is now on all pages if needed.

Light theme is added

You can now choose to have dark pages or white pages when using the forum.

Contrast is improved

The readability of the text is improved. The texts are now clearer.

Editting you posts

It is now possible to edit you post after it was already submitted to the forum. The post can be editted for at least 12 hours.

2. More coming for the forum

- Uploading pictures.
- Tabs for the posts that were placed on the last day and the last week
- A larger area to type tour messages

Ability to adjust the lighting is definitely a plus and appreciated. There are still some pain points however that may warrant consideration.

The automatic opening of a new tab, and this is obviously just my opinion as different people have different tastes, it just feels like it adds clunkiness and awkwardness to navigation. Particularly on mobile, navigating back into the game from the forum at least with the default safari browser on ios requires extra navigation; not much but enough to be inconvenient. I honestly believe it should be worth considering having the forum NOT open a new tab, and also feature the same left side main menu that is featured on the main account level pages for easier transition back and forth within the same tab for both mobile and desktop players. I honestly like how the left menu transitions between account pages and country/enterprise pages, it would seem reasonable and provide a more unified theme if the forum followed the same blueprint.

Search feature also appears to be absent from the forum. The previous iteration of the forum had its own issues and search itself could absolutely be a chore, but there was at least a semi-reasonable way to find past information. If I now say to myself 'hey Andy talked about making a change to ___ product a couple of months ago but I forgot what he said', I'd not be able to even attempt within reason to find that information now.

Another quality of life improvement - not necessarily a problem or critique like the previous two points were - could be linking players empires/CEOs to their membership in such a way that it appears automatically in a forum profile of sorts. In the old system we could click on a players name I believe to send them a direct message, which still exists but is seldom used. Since someone has to be a registered player logged into the game to access the forum, perhaps it is worth exploring having their name clickable on the forum and doing so brings you to an account summary page that simply lists their empire capital on any world that they play on and any enterprises that they have on the world. Newer players especially will come on here and have a question regarding something with their country and we inevitably always have to ask the question 'what country and world' so we can actually look and try to assist. Since your system already has all of that information available by default, consider making the 'who am I' and 'where is my country' automatically publicly linked for easier communication outside of and between worlds. Example your name Andy would be clickable then it would bring me to a player summary page, heck you could do the existing Account Status page.

My response was actually much much longer and had a couple of other thoughts but it was seemingly cut off midsentence and the remainder doesn't appear when I click on Edit. I'll hold off on other thoughts until that is addressed.

I was cut off too.

Editing your post is now added but there is probably a problem. I advise not to edit posts for now. It will be fixed coming Monday.
If you are used to the light theme, it is now available. click on the top left icon and you can choose for white.

We intend to add more:

- Uploading pictures
- restore the last day messages page
- restore the last week messages page
- Increase the size of the area where you type your message
- Add scrollbars

I think that if all this is done, the forum will have all the functions we were used to have.
We have done this change because the old version looked quite old and because we were not able to change or improve anything.
For example, pictures used to disappear and had to be uploaded again.
we ended up with nearly no pictures at all.

More in this upgrade:

We continue to make relative small changes to corporations.
The main reasons for these changes are:

1. Increase the profitability of corporations across the entire product markets. The improved profitability will allow for faster growth, better defense
for those interested in a larger army.
2. The corporations are gradually becoming larger and their increased profitability comes partially from increased production.
We are forced to do so from time to time because the number of corporations in all worlds is increasing beyond control.
it is harder to manage and process the transactions coming from very large numbers of corporations.
Also, countries and enterprises must manage more corporations than ever before.

The gradual increase in the size of corporations will reduce the growth in numbers but allow for growth in profits.
This process will continue at a slow pace and we hope that the number of corporations will stop growing and maybe in the long run, start to decline.

Its been brought up before and without being rude I'd like to bring it up again and request that you consider providing actual details in updates that impact gameplay at all. Increased profitability of corporations across the entire product markets sounds good, but if the value of everything is going up that means the value of supplies are going up as well unless you're increasing profitability by another means. Updates given, when given (I know some changes are made without notice) would be much more appreciated if they contained changelog details on exactly WHAT was changed. Give players the details and make the challenge figuring out how to best profit/grow off of the changes, don't tell them everything is more profitable while leaving out the details of how.

Even just a once per week changelog update with simple notes like this for each thing that you/your team manipulated during the week:
Targon Missiles - Monthly output reduced from 900 -> 800, all input supply requirements reduced proportionally

Last message clipped again.

Targon Missiles - Monthly output reduced from 900 -> 800. Input supply requirement quantities adjusted proportionally.

That would tell us exactly what change you made and leave it up to the players to determine if they think it makes them more or less attractive to produce. Don't make the challenge figuring out what's been changed, make the challenge figuring out how to maximize success and adapt to changes that can change what is considered optimized.

Revisiting this thread just made me think of another feature request for the forum.

Can you make it remember the last post visited, and add some javascript to the page to send you down the page to that post? Would be in line with how most major forum software packages work.

I would also like to second what Unsthable said about game updates. I recently noticeably larger worker requirements a couple pf days before you published the notes about the change. It would be better to know right away.

I do think the larger corporations work better, along with your other profitability tweaks. I see fewer loans outgoing to service struggling corporations across GR since you've rolled these out.

In the past months we have repeatedly announced changed to corporations. These changed were small but happend several times.
We explained why it was done.
The aim is to stop the growth in the number of corporations and even make these nummers decline.
We repeatedly said that corporations will grow.
Produce more.
Hire more werkers and become more profitable.
We have made at leest 5 rounds of such changes.
There were no questions or comments.
Changes came at an average of 2%.
5 rounds accumulated.

The markets quickly adapt to the changes.
Some countries need to close failing corporations.
Most countries do not need closures.
